Absolutely love this game! Great fun, challenging in places, but easy to pick up for a quick blast. It has a classic retro arcade feel, but looks and plays brilliantly. What it also has in abundance is humour. The mannerisms of the characters and some of the dramatic sequences are just hilarious. The addition of the zombie horde mode has just made things even better - it's about time zombies got to shoot back. It's a superb game and a real bargain. The developer has put some serious work into this project and it really shows.
I’m a heavy FPS player on consoles. I still have to really fall in love with a FPS game on the Quest, but having experienced Operation Serpens have given me a fun and enjoyable game play that within its quirkiness and low poly style still provides great VR shooting experience.
I honestly recommend this game to anyone and I’m glad that creators are given this great opportunity to release their games using sideQuest.
Exceptional arcade shooter. The aesthetics are great, with colorful characters and locations, loads of environment detail, and good audio. Weapons are varied and feel good, and the relentless focus on heavy action feels very in line with classic Area 51 style gun games. A decent complexity level without *too* much to keep track of, and plenty of variety between the mission locations and the zombie mode. This is an easy recommendation for the price. If it sounds like your jam, pick this up.
Amazing game!!! Absolutely brilliant
Design of the game is just awesome, different levels each of them harder than the last. Honestly one of the best games on the market so far.
Zombies is fun but really scary! Couldnt play too much of it haha!
Developer, amazing job!
love this game. Each mission has a different objective and setting so it does not get repetitive. You get to use a range of weapons and against varying types of opponents. There is some humour along the way and some strange body movements! The Don Mamba mission is quite difficult and it would be nice to have more warning about the explosives that will catch you out. Looking forward to the zombie level.
A great game and lots of fun. It provide just the right amount of challenge and the level progression nicely warms you up for more difficultly later. Would have been 5 stars but for the aim feeling off, but happy to give it 5 if that is fixed. I especially love the variation on levels, to ensure it is not just another stand and shoot game, as one minute you are in a building shooting down, next you are bursting down doors to clear enemies and then defending innocents from the back of the van while being chased.
Highly recommend the game and hope the developer keeps on adding more content! Especially great on a quest without wires and giving you the ultimate freedom to keep spinning around and getting those targets from all sides.
This is the ultimate arcade shooter. The best I've played in VR so far. Fun story. The characters are animated and creatively cool. It also is very challenging especially the last two levels, fun but hard. I hope to see this developer add more content so I can keep coming back to play more or make more games, awesome stuff. Only downside is that I want more!! A+ arcade game.
This game is just the right combination of fun silliness and just enough challenge. I can't wait for more levels and to see what else this team can come up with.
Gameplay of "Operation Serpent" VR on level "Viper" via Oculus Quest. Believe it or not, this game is harder than it looks lol. Shoutout to the Developers for a great game that can keep you entertained for HOURS! Special thanks to "Ginra Gamez" for an exclusive look into a Zombies "Horde" mode in development on the game that will be released SOON! I will be posting some SNEAK PEAK content of the new Zombies Mode soon.
A game that is setting a standard for Indi Developers! I gave this game a trial in order to give some feedback to the developers (who are very responsive and also well mannered). Got the game loaded to my quest and jacked in. The game gives me memories of the old Time Crisis that I have played, the artwork is nice and the minor details to the use of HUD and animations is something that I feel could be taken as a good example to include in this genre of games. There were some minor gameplay issues that I experienced using the quest, mainly due to the controller set up being different for whats programmed in the game. But in saying that, it isnt anything that takes away from the fun. A little more tweaking and I would be happy to give this 5 stars. Anyway, download it, try it and review it. Support Devs like this because it is evident that a lot of work went into it and they deserve the support!
I have had a chance to play the game and I must say it's looking pretty great. I love the idea of the health and progress bars in the inside of the gloves, that's a real nice touch. Art style is great and has me reminiscing of Time Crisis from back in the day. a few cons I immediately picked up on;
This is a awesome game. It is funny and hard enough to not go throught it in a blink, yet not to hard so that you loose your interest in the game. It is a must have.
Amazingly fun game with good humor to boot. Especially friendly towards users who have not gotten their VR legs yet because of the limited need for locomotion. I featured this in my recent SideQuest recommendation list. Wish this developer all the best with the full release!
One of the best VR games ... You're doing a great job !! Thanks! :)
this game is super fun the storymode is pretty hard and the zombie horde mode is challenging and fun this is a must have sidequest game!
Zombie Hordes is a mix of terror of the undead...with armed and determined undead! I made the mistake of first trying Zombie Horde at 2 AM...It was too scary, I waited until daylight and it was stilll scary. Its a great alternative in OS play.
i really enjoy this game, the first time i played it was ok, i ended up removing from the headset, i saw that they added a new level so i tried again, enjoyed it a little more, i deleted again shortly after, and agaon the devs came out with another level and then another level. so i tried again, now it has stayed on the headset and is played regulary, the mechanics of the game to me are great, shooting accuracy is accurate. if you try and dont like it give it another shot, i did and im happy i did , thank you devs
This is a great little wave shooter. It's a lot better than most out there and keeps it varied with different level setups and scenarios. Weapon choice is reasonably varied, with well executed aim/fire mechanisms. It's nothing to write home about graphically, but that doesn't detract from the gameplay at all, which is solid, and enjoyable.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go try and crack level 6 again so I can play on a crane. :p
Definite buy on full release I think.
Fantastic game, easy to play. fun, it is a great game to launch have some light-hearted shooting times, and you end up in a good mood.
Was privileged that my boys were able to get a chance to play this game! One is 12 and the other is 8. They both have the Oculus Quest and really enjoyed the game !! Great job !! Totally recommend this game !!
OPERATION SERPENS is an Action, Arcade, Simulation, and Single-player video game developed by Ginra Tech. All through the game, the player plays the role of a member of an elite squad who has to dismantle the evil Snake Organization. While exploring the world, the player views the environment from the first-person perspective.
The game’s mission is simple, where the player has to shoot enemies by holding on the trigger button. The game has an assortment of levels, and every single level has varied challenges to complete. The player has limited health, which gets decreased if any of the bullets hit the character.
Every level has a short time in which the player has to eliminate the hordes of enemies. Dive into the adventure, show off the skills, eliminate enemies, avoid bullets, and play as long as possible. The significant features of the game are First-person Perspective, Multiple Stages, Hordes of Enemies, and Shooting Gameplay.

AWESOME ARCADE SHOOTER!!!
Remember what it felt like to go to the arcade and put in a quarter or two and grab a gun and shoot at the screen. Well its that x100!! Immersive VR Experience!!! The animations are great and funny too, the game mechanics are simple to grasp at start.
Overall an excellent shooter when you feel like killing time, not to mention a game to show off to your family and friends as their first VR Experience.
Thank you GINRA TECH so much for bringing back that nostalgia of a simple yet awesome game shooter!!
This game was great before the Horde mode!! I have really enjoyed the cover and shoot mechanics. I also love and laugh at the dance moves and Sakura Shoryukens from the baddies each time I fail a mission.. I do find myself playing levels over and over again to progress. Respect to the devs for the extra effort and continual updates. This game is worth more! I hope to see more from them!
Hands down one of the best games I’ve played on the quest each level is a new challenge me and the partner enjoy it we can’t wait for full release will definitely be buying it
This game is just insane. I’m a sucker for arcade like shooters and this is perfect. The level design had me moving around a lot. The gun mechanics is awesome too, the gun spin gives it an extras point. The difficulty is nice too, not too hard but kinda hard. So, final verdict is that this game is awesome!
awesome game!!! I love the different weapons, the characters dancing is very amusing. this game is a must have if you like arcade shooters. I highly recommend downloading it.
amazingly fun VR game that makes you feel like you are in the classic arcade game ala Time Crissis or House of the Dead. You can not go wrong with a game that lets you take dudes down with an AK while spinning a gold Desert Eagle in your other hand 😃
What fun filled action game! Great visuals and good story. The guns feel good and are easy to reload. The overall game play is very solid
Hey I've had Operation Serpens more or less when it came out on side quest. I have found this game very good. I got to test the new level Zombie and wanted to give my honest review. Zombie level: It was a honour to try. First of all the guns, great choices, good idea pick up two guns and the game starts. I could see there was health packs to pick up to increase your energy levels for the next round. There was also grenades, and a sheild to use, but the only way to pick them up was to climb the frame. I personally would like the option of actually moving around your base freely with the left controller, which you cant do as yet. Right controller does turn you left and right. So Zombies attacking you from all angles, quite ugly zombies, different types, good, and the zombies were moaning a lot. It would be great to see more detail between the zombies and the scenery sometimes it was difficult to see where they were. It was great when I turned round and got quite spooked as a Zombie was right next to me. Great to see Zombies crawling along too. When the Zombies fire at you wether in this level or another, it would be great to see the bullets aimed at you made bigger. Overall I definately recommend playing this game, and Im sure theres lots more to come. Well done to the game maker. Cant wait to see what else you will come up with in the future. I will continue playing this great game.
I loved playing this game so much i had to make a review video for it :) The new Horde mode is amazing, waves of zombie attack and you start each round by picking up 2 weapons for each round. You can cilmb the frame/ monkey bars to move around which was a fun espect in its own right. The main story missions are also great fun and are very replayable, both myself and my partner have enjoyed playing this game. Everyone should have this installed i fully recommend this game
Used to play lots of light gun arcarde back in the day, and this game really bring all those fond memories, but this time in VR and much more interactive
The game is really good, the use of weapons and the movility is amazing, Fun AF, and plus really immersive, i know a lot of people will say crap about the graphics and what not but this game is totally something you want in your library. 10/10 would recommend since they are also updatung and adding stuff to the game.keep up the amazing work
I think this game should be in your top 10 for best VR shooters. It's not as good as Pavlov, but it is much better then Onward. I'm excited about the Horde mode. I highly recommend this game.
This game is lots of fun. I love the sense of humor with the characters. The game is challenging without being impossible and the devs are very involved with the community. They continually update and improve the game. I've enjoyed it very much.
My son and I had a lot of fun playing this game. There is a lot of little touches that made us laugh like headshots making the bad guys heads actually pop off! The dev suggested I pull the pin on a grenade in the shooting range and just hold it a few seconds... I was not dissapointed. The guns look and sound cool, flashbangs give you bullet time for a few seconds and grenades don't suck.
This is clearly an indie project, but definitely worth checking out. The levels are straightforward and can provide a nice chalenge. There is enough variety in scenarios to make each level kinda its own thing. Really solid indie offering overall.
Seriously, for the price of admission just stop reading these reviews and give it a go, I promise it's fun!
I was hesitant with this game at first glance. The devs actively post updates on reddit, and the last update got me really seeing how much effort and shine they are putting on it. I jumped and downloaded it and was sad I didn't download it earlier. The team has a lot of great touches in the game - there are ID cards in the menus you can pick up that have their actual pictures on it. The shooting feels great and reminds me of like Time Crisis or something similar at the arcades. If you are on the fence about this game give it a go - you will be glad you did.
Amazing - This game is so much fun for taking out your frustrations. I like that this is 'fun' rather than being very bloody and gory. The devs have got it right here. Thanks for making the early version avaialble free,.
If you are looking for Arcade style Shooters with loads of Action , then this is the game to play! The Characters and settings are really funny and to top it off we have ZOMBIE MODE!!! Well Done Devs!! keep up the great work.
Have to say Great fun. easy to pick up and shoot. Fun elements and also not to easy which is great., which helps making you come back for more or killing that Boss. Love it. A great example of what pick up and play gaming should be like.
Fun game. Its runs smooth and the poly characters have good physics. The play can be intense which is challenging but is also forgiving and you feel accomlishment even in defeat. I play OS casually and its like a cup of coffee...I'm WIDE awake after a few rounds.
I discovered this game a few weeks ago. Its honestly one of the funnest games I ever played from sidequest. The son really enjoys this game also, he always ask to play this game more than any other. We really enjoy the guns and blasting enemies with shotguns is always a great laugh. The game is always getting updates often and I can see this game becoming a VR classic.
This game is great! The gameplay works great, the feel of the game is great, the enemys are great, and the teamates do nothing lmao. If you are looking for a shooting/hoard game, this is a great game to try. I really love this game a lot and if you're trying to decide whether or not you should get this, I'd recommend you do!!
Now sure i have had this game for only 15 minutes as i am reviewing this game, but its really fun, a couple of suggestions i do have for the game, manually reload, thumbstick locomotion, and maybe a coop mode. other than that this game is a good time waster and really fun to play.
I just play-tested the new zombie horde mode and I have some thoughts. The overall design of the area is very well done, but the broken bus you are in has struggles to help you defeat the zombies. The spot you are in makes you very susceptible to attacks. The placement of the grenades and the healing item could be placed closer to the character. The gunplay is very well done, though the accuracy of the guns could be tightened a bit. I feel as if the bullets go everywhere but a the zombie. Even then, I still find the area to be very interesting and I love the design of the zombies. It is awesome how you can use every gun in the game and can pull dual wield thd revolvers and exterminate the zombies. Overall, I'd say you should definitely give the gamemode, and the game, a try.
I've played this game (through Steam) for the past few months and with the constant updates and added levels it just keeps getting better. So happy to have it on my Quest through SideQuest also. Great nostalgia filled action shooter with a touch of humour that doesn't take itself too serious. Operation Wolf meets Virtua Cop in VR, Arcade fun on a mobile headset!
Solid game with robust gameplay, fair visuals, and an engaging, linear, objective-based story. Can't wait to see how it's improved upon.
Excellent game! truley is stupidly good fun! Even replaying missions is still just as fun and as the game continue to develop it continues to improve and get even better
First impressions: it’s very fun! I love the unique feel to it where some zombies have guns, and some don’t. I’ll play more later
I just got a chance to play. I made it to round 4 I think it was and registered a score of 146. I am coming after your 246 score later today.....LOL. My initial impressions are that I need more play space. I am planning on taking my quest outside later to see if having full freedom to move within the level helps me. I really like this mode but once again fee like it could benefit from having difficulty settings. Even the earlier stages feel really hard I can not imagine making it to the end. Great job though. If there is any other feedback you need please let me know.
Ginra Tech announced that Operation Serpens is set to release on October 15th and aims to stand out among VR shooters. Its gameplay features the same reflex driven chaos you'd expect from the lovechild of Time Crisis meeting Contra, and it offers a huge array of in-game equipment. As the elite agent in its titular task force, players lob everything from grenades to flashbangs, snipe, dual wield different guns or even take up shields and red pills to make it through. On top of all of that, this upcoming title is developed by a one-man team who actively engages his playerbase, and even sent us a few words.
Itzik Goldman, the man behind Ginra Tech has an easy explanation for why this game might trigger a nostalgia-vibe in so many. "I like VR shooting games and was looking for one that gives you the feel like you are in 80's action movies. When I did not find it, it gave me a good excuse to make such a game." What's resulted is a commando-style wave shooter requiring an absurd number of frags to make it through levels, as well as the ridiculously fun (albeit implausible) ways that players can survive through missions.
That 80's effect also explains the near-cartoonish graphics as well. Unlike the VR shooters that try to simulate actual gun and reload mechanics, Operation Serpens isn't a title that goes for combat realism. Instead, it offers pure, saturated action intended to put its players into a zone of bullet dodging, counter-attacking, shoot, and blow 'em up fun. Instead of motion sickness or frustration at reloading failures, new players are likely to feel like they've entered a VR-mastered world of an old Nintendo shooter.
The story of the game itself is simple: take down the head of the ominous Snakes organization. The Snakes have managed to throw innumerable bad-guys and gear your way, but that's OK, because you've got a team, and are also just that bad-ass. That's all apparent within one minute of getting into the action, and despite this simplicity, the man behind Ginra Tech is happy to tease that, "the ending is also very surprising!"
Itzik Goldman also has lots to say regarding the technical aspects of this game's creation. Coming from a background extending beyond 20 years of software development, Operation Serpens is his first big game. He says that community responses have been one of the most rewarding parts of the creation process, stating "[He] really did not expect such enthusiasm."
Goldman initially released early levels of Operation Serpens and let the word out via social media. After players trialed those versions, the game went through innumerable tweaks in response to what players gave back — ranging from consistent frame-rate and performance controls to additions like gun-spinning or exploding cars causing chain reactions — all demonstrating that he takes player feedback quite seriously.
"My biggest advice is to get feedback from real players from the first stages of development. VR is a different medium and what you see from here you do not see from there." He says. "I once got feedback from a guy saying his head is inside the ceiling and he can't play the game. After talking with him I realized he was really tall (over 2 meters) and that helped me figure out what I need to fix in the game."
As a fellow VR player in the 6+ club, I can say first-hand that Ginra Tech has covered its bases for a smooth and satisfying VR wave shooter. The first few levels of Operation Serpens are still free and available on Steam VR, or to Oculus Quest side-loaders who can play wirelessly. After October 15th, the full game will release and switch to a one-time pay model with a final climbing level, horde Zombie mode, and plans for future multiplayer content as well.

Love the comedy the exagerated mannerisms. Would really like to see that developed further, maybe some comedic interactions? Love that the game doesn't take itself too seriously. Starts out fairly easy and builds in difficulty but remains fun.
This is probably the funnest game in VR right now. The balance between equiptment mechanisms and the cartoon story make it one of the best. I love how the adrenaline builds up and before you know it your in the middle of a gun fight swapping between rampage and trying not to blow up the wrong explosive. Can't wait for Zombies!
Games really nice, obviously it doesn’t have godly graphics like other games but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t play amazingly!
Fantastic Arcade Shooter! Tons of fun, great controls, great aesthetic. Must-have sidequest install. Keep up the excellent work!
I'm new at VR and usually I don't like cartoony graphics but this game changed my mind 😁 a lot of fun for first steps in VR 👌
Very well designed!! love it! Multiplayer (coop with my gf) would just blast it out of this world!! Music could vary a bit more but that is only rant on highest niveaus!! Cheers
This game is enjoyable and comparable to similar VR arcade shooters. It's more forgiving of mistakes and is definitely a great title to start VR with. As a work in progress, I can't complain and look forward to future updates.
Creative, funny, challenging. A lot more than just a run of the mill 'shoot 'em up' app!
Fun game, challenging enough to keep you interested.
This game is so good! Really a good Arcade Game. Thank you for making this for free!
Love this game. A great arcade shooting game with lots of action and in VR!!!
Level 7 is here It is a really great level. In order to gain access to this level at this time, you will need to beat the other 6 levels and then message the dev to give you access. Otherwise, the final Level 7 is coming soon. although I felt like it was kinda hard. The climbing mechanic is incredible and the sense of height is really good especially when you are going across after climbing the first tower. I really wish you could shoot those red barrels to cause an explosion. I really wish there was anything that would give me the upper hand. LOL. I am trying to beat it without using a red pill. Great job and I can't wait to see the rest of the level. I am also very much looking forward to the Horde Zombie mode. Hoping there be difficulty levels in the final game. I feel like more casual gamer like myself could really enjoy this game if there were Easy Normal and hard modes.
Just love the style and game play of this title. It's silky smooth and extremely addictive game play is the first good shooter experience i have seen on the Quest.Cant wait for the full version to arrive. Love it.
I think this game is amazing. I love the feel of the guns, the game design/graphics, and the small detail of being able to spin the gun. Although the first level does drag on for a bit longer than I expected, and throughout levels it feels as if it's too repetitive with the same enemies. I just want different kinds of enemys. Although I have these complants they aren't ruining the game. Keep it up with the great work and I hope you create new games, or hope this game gets onto the top 5 of the most downloaded games.
This game was fantastic! I love the gunplay and the cartoony feeling of it. This is one of the best games on sidequest.
Super fun arcade shooter, got to love gunnin goons down with an AK while spinning a gold DE in your other hand :D
Awesome game. Loved every minute of it. Looking forward to the official release!
I'm not one to write reviews, but this game is really fun if you enjoy classic arcade type shooters. It's really fun to dodge the bullets flying at you and landing headshots is satisfying. Definitely reccomend trying it out and listening to some music to hype you up.
Very fun app Love fps on oculus quest.
This is a fun game and it has progressed so well from the first day it came out. Definately a project to be proud of.
Great Game Super funny bro
Amazing game. i had a lot of fun playing this arcade shooter!! everyone give it a go! its FREEE
My son really loves this game, it is awesome! Can't wait for the final release, although it has provided a lot of entertainment already. Keep up the great work!
For a mission based gallery shooter I found the enemy and gun variety to be good. I wish there was more realistic reloading for added challenge and immersion, but I am looking forward to more action packed missions in the future!
really fun game, hours of fun and a great game to show somebody new to VR
I have been playing this game since last week and I find it really amazing one.
The graphics attracted me most while I had first look at the game and its so consistent and neatly done that all stages go well connected, keeping you with the theme.
Being a VR game it runs really smoothly on my 1080ti and Oculus Rift.
wno lag or abrupt glitches during game play.
The game has Variety of weapons and enemies to give you something new to play with at every point
and the UI is smartly done to keep you stay focused in same FOV you are currently playing.
I highly Recommend it to those who all like FPS games and also to those who would like to explore it.
I'm new to the quest, this is a fun non serious shooter. I cant wait to see how this game develops in the future.
i just love this game and the dev he lissens when you have a suggestion and this is verry good!
Time Crisis 2 reborn!
This game is the best wave shooter I've encountered in Quest (off both official and SideQuest catalogs). It's fun, wacky, challenging and the quality is already right up there with them big budget titles from official store. Pew pew! 🔫
Love this game. The level in the back of the truck taking out the helicopters is the best
I've played this game (through Steam) for the past few months and with the constant updates and added levels it just keeps getting better. So happy to have it on my Quest also. Great nostaligia filled action shooter with a touch of humour that doesn't take itself too serious. Operation Wolf meets Virtua Cop in VR, Arcade fun on a mobile headset!
If you enjoyed Crisis Vrigade you will enjoy this! Lots more levels and loads of levels. Definitely recommended
I can't stop playing this game! It definitely makes you feel like a badass! It will also give you the giggles with its sense of humor. The weapon choices are fun and fantastic! This game is a must add to your vr experience. Thank you creators for bringing this game to us. I look forward to seeing what you guys add next.
I don't have anything bad to say about this game. It is fun, action packed, funny, and at least for me pretty challenging at times. I am super hyped to see this game's end product.
Very fun game... downloaded a few days ago. Love the cartoony style graphics, as it reminds me a little of the Sega Genesis days.
Also liked the personal touch in the safe house where you included ID cards and all of your Social Media info.
Congratulations
This game is quite hard but I have always wanted one like this! I would very much recommend to anybody who likes shooters!
Great game. Been playing of a couple of weeks. Love the updates.
Awesome work! I used to love playing Time Crisis growing up, and this game really hits that old itch! Thanks!
its got simple easy to learn mechanics and is much fun with all the new missions and variety of guns
This is a fun game with easy to learn mechanics. It's stylized and works and looks good on the quest. The gameplay is fun and simple shooty shooty bang bang.
played this game back when it was looking for testers on Reddit and only had one level, multiple updates later and its been an amazing improvement over time!
It's a really good game to pass the time after a good session of intense vr !
Absolute blast to play, has great physics and the cartoonish style looks awesome with the quest's low power.
Amazing phisics and super fun gameplay, keep the amazing work, im so eited to see whats next and super hype of seeing developers like you create awesome experience for the R comunity.
Can't believe the level of polish of this game! Also love the cartoony style.
Fun arcade like shooter. There is an healthy variety of weapons, all with unique features. A minor thing, the assault rifle's recoil seems a bit too high to be effective in the first encounter.
"Old-School" Like FPS game, Hope for more automatic guns that could be used in the Horde mode
The arcady feel brings back fond memories of bowling alley or pizza place light gun games such as Time Crisis and Ghost Squad, complete with some delightfully interesting situations, you never know what is around this game's next corner! Excited to see how this game continues to evolve and expand over time!
One of the BEST games on SideQuest. If you havent try it out allready just do you a favour and install it. Lots of fun and highly recommended
Really fun game
I like this game, it is like an arcade game but in VR.
I experienced motion sickness in one of the levels, when your character moves from one room to another, but only in that transition.
Very nice looking well optimized game. I like the fast paced style with multiple ways to play. The friendly bots could use some tweaking because they not always care too much when an enemy jumps right next to them.
I enjoy the simple, arcade-y style of this 1st person shooter action game. The fact that you don't move makes it ideal for someone new to VR and provides a comfortable player experience. The difficulty does increase over time and can be challenging to make you earn your missions.
Bruh, something about this game got me going! Excited to see what their update in October brings!
My favorite mission-based shooter! Very well done environments and cohesive art style
Been playing for a couple of days and I love it so far, it has good levels and an arcade feel
i played this game for a week now , for me it's a little hard , but i enjoin it, i recomand try it .
Great game good variety in weapons the game doesn't take itself too seriously and it has a unique artsyle
This seem fire hopefully I can get it later when it comes out
I really liked the pace of this game cant wait for the next level!!
Genuinely good fun. Definitely doesn't take itself too seriously and as a result is fun to play. Some of the character movements are very funny, and while slightly out of character of the personality they are intended to portray, they are very amusing. I like the time slowing grenade, a nice touch. Would probably prefer the length of some of the waves to be a bit shorter, but on the whole I will definitely be going back to it to play more levels.
I am playing OP Serpens since the start and all the work the dev shows is just amazing. The community is always heard, a lot of the suggestions and ideas found their way into the game and over time, this developed far beyond a beta. This is a full price game for sure! The game is worth a lot of your time as gameplay always progresses and I am super stoked what the full game will have in store for us.
Until then the "beta" will have to do. It's free. It's a staff pick. TRY IT NOW!
Really. Really. Good. Feels like an action movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and that helps immensely with how the player would feel. Will buy on full release, dev deserves every penny
This game is one of the best games for vr especially for the first time people who just got a new system really enjoyed this game
I just randomly downloaded this game the other day and it's a blast!!!! I got zero motion sickness or anything bad from it, all positive! Download this one asap!
I have heard alot of good things about this game and I want to try iy out
Reminds me a little of Time Crisis, a nice comfortable pace and not too hard.
A must download This is a great game, and the developer is working hard adding more content to make it even more awesome.
i saw it and it looked very dope so i played it and i completed the game and left very satisfied. i think this game has alot of potential and i would love to see it grow. its a very fun shooter game if youre looking for something like that than you will be satisfied
Super fun game, because of high comfort levels you can Play seated
I really enjoyed it! Look forward to the full release!
Lots of fun, game everyone should try!
Nice and fun game to jump into to relax or just have fun while talking to people on discord.
The gameplay is good and not too hard.
Fantastic game, always great fun constantly updated also!
the game really reminds you of the old school arcade light gun games. I enjoyed it very much. The models and textures are nice and i havent noticed any or much slow down.
Fun game! It reminds me of VR Brigade, but I enjoy this more. You can see where the bullets are coming from and attempt to take cover and dodge. The game gives you a variety of guns to your disposal and each level has it's on uniqueness. If you haven't played the demo, definitely pick it up and I look forward to the final version!
super fun to give to a friend and see there reaction when they play for the first time definitely recommend
This is now my favorite sidequest game, just played it this morning and so excited to play it again tonight
One of my favorite games on Sidequest. Challenging gameplay, great, amusing characters nice feeling guns and fun varied scenarios.
Nice gameplay, better than CrisisVrigade
This game is amazing. Its honestly one of my favorite games to play on my quest. Its better than all the games on the actual oculus store. Keep up the good work.
I'm a fan of wave type shooters so I can easily recommend checking this out. Has a bit of a VRigade vibe to it.
This is a great and varied game. I'm really looking forward to see the future developments!
Great game all around!
best game ever. i would play this for hours
keep up the good work i find it diffrent then other vr shooters out right now
This game is the bee's knees when it comes to VR Shooters! endless amount of fun and a perfect way to kiss that boring day, GOODBYE! i reccomend it to all my friends with the quest or PCVR!
One thing what i like about this game is that it is not very hard like crisis vrigade which is so hard it is not fun. This game is fun and i am waiting for more episodes :)
Fun game. Has a lot of potential. Enough of a workout to keep me coming back, but not enough to wear me out. 4.5/5 Stars
I love arcade type shooters this is really good shooter i hope to see mulitplayer soon
Finally a good and fresh arcade fps for vr. I really was wishing for a game like this where you can just go nuts shooting everything that come in ur field of view. Nice
A must download This is a great game, and the developer is working hard adding more content to make it even more awesome.if you having downloaded it yet, then Do it now, and enjoy the madness.
Great game with suprisingly good gun play and mechanics
This game is amazing. My buddy and I keep coming back to this game. Who knows in the future we can expect a serpent 2 game? Pray
an overall great game! I love how the flashbang works, and it opens up a ton of unique scenarios.
Super Awesome Game, Can't wait for the full release. Great Job Team!
My kids not really enjoy a zombie type of arcade shooter, so this one would put the cheers on their face. A multiplayer mode would be awesome, but overall it's a fun-tastic game though.
One of the better games on SideQuest. Where many games are 'just fun to play once' this one (and off course some other games) are fun to keep playing.
Especially the phased level release keeps it a joy to play. This is a must play game for the Quest, also when it's released as a paid game!
It's also very easy to start on when you're new to VR, not too much forced locomotion and stuff.
Easy to pick up and have fun immediately. Really fast paced and fun arcade shooter. My favorite shooting game so far on Quest. Development is consistent and the game gets continually better with every new update!
The game is immediate fun. Not too Goofy yet not too serious. Definitely is one of the better games on sidequest as of the time of typing this review
Really great! One of the best VR shooters around. Def recommend
One of the best arcade shooters in VR. Many scenarios that test different skills, one has you sniping from afar, others make you aim your shots otherwise you come across certain doom. Each stage is different than the last! I thoroughly recommend it!
this game is really cool. its hard but in a fun way! really is special an amazimg graphics for a quest game, really fun, really matrix like, and just amazing!
This game is pretty good, I think. VR light gun games are amazing, in my opinion. My only problem is that the hand tracking is slightly off from where it’s natural. Other than that, amazing! And i’m sure more work is being done to it. Definitely install!
So far a really fun game and the devs are adding more all the time i cant wait to see whats next
Easily a top ten game on Sidequest. If you like wave shooters, this is the one to get. Easy to jump right into the first level. Love the addition of new weapons and the increasing difficulties of each level. A must have!
Amazing shooting gallery type of game. Started as a simple short experience like many games available on SideQuest but thanks to continued support from the developer, it turned into a full fledged game. Graphics may look simplistic and cartoonish but thanks to them it manages to look pretty nice on the Quest. A "must have" as far as SideQuest games go.
I like this game so much! I played it since it first launched. Many improvements and updates have been done. Looking forward to hop back in and play the Zombie mode!
Awesome shooter game that I have many hours on and still come back for more. I can't wait for the full version to come out and the upcoming zombie mode! I totally recommend you get this game if you don't have it. (I love the gun spinning action)
Fun game. Good work. Looking forward to the next update.
Just finished playing and it was definitely intense. Smooth gameplay through and through. I loved the way I never ran out of ammo and that I could duck when I needed (at least on the first level). On to the next level and much more action cornered in an elevator. No ducking, no hiding just adrenaline and a will to live. I do like better graphics in gameplay but that was soon forgotten in the complete immersion. My hats off to you guys and thanks for the free download.
Really dig the flow of the game .. not to hard not too easy just right in the goldilocks zone to play and relax a bit. Love the look and physhics of it. BRAVO guys keep it up .
Game is surprisingly fun, more so than I expected it to be. It brings brings back memories of classic arcade shooters like Time Crisis. The game is simple in both design and gameplay (blocky models, pressing a button to reload) but it's quite an addictive game and surprisingly difficult too. I do wish the two handed guns backed more of a punch, especially the shotgun. Also two handed weapons don't vibrate the controller you use to grip the barrel and the assault rifle has no visible recoil.
so I really liked the game
Its clean and sticks to the theme
The designs are all in same theme which makes it supper acceptable visually
I’m an old school light gun game fan and this game scratches my light gun game itch in VR. Very fun game with good cartoony graphics. Love the guns in the game. All work well and are fun to shoot. The button ducking comes in handy often and is very useful for when yo don’t want to physically duck. Good mix of levels. Can’t wait for final level.
I love this game! Any game with a riot shield instatnly scores high in my book, but I also love the humor and over all feel of this game. The mechanics are great, finding hidden weapons is fun. Each level is completely different packed with great moments! Must have game imo!
it's the best game on sidequest i love to play it and look forward to more content
Ok so as im typing from my quest RN. This game is amazing. played all levels and the whole experience is just great. Although i do believe level 6 is a little hard/ its still good. if anything add more level and maybe even checkpoints. but its great the way it is. so fun
This game is the best game on side quest and I can’t encourage you more to try this game. I can’t wait for the full release in October and have beat the whole game. Loads of content. Keep up the good work.
Very funny! The levels are very different from each other. The game is not too difficult. The graphic style works perfectly with the style of the levels. Great Game!
Cool VR shooter. Played the first 4 levels so far. Each level has an extra for the players to get used to - an enemy that must not be killed, civilians running, exploding bombs. The game has simple graphics and mechanics - no locomotion, distant grab for weapons, one click reload, the human models are cute and sketchy rather than realistic, but still the levels grow gradually in difficulty and it was pretty addictive to me. At some point it will get you tired, and you will need to put it off to recharge your energy and focus. So far it is very fun to play, 3 hours in-game and 3 more levels to go.
Nothing fancy just a good shooter with potential, ideal to show first timers and a good game for a startup Dev.
Saw it first on Facebook and watched it develop from there and just taken a go.
The more of these type games we get and the more support we show the better they will get.
Had to laugh at the Camp Captain!
I'll come back for more content and the free gun....
This game brings an excellent first person shooter to VR with unique challenges on each level. The environments are detailed and very well-designed. The only Locomotion in the game is you physically moving around your play space which only adds to the immersion and already great game play. The controls are easy to pick up and each level is challenging with excellent character AI. I can't wait and see what the future holds!
was kinda skeptical at first but its really fun (but also pretty challenging) but i love the blocky-ish nature of this game and the simplicity . 11/10
I can’t believe I just stumbled upon this gem just now! I’m a big fan of arcade shooters like Time Crisis. I have been playing another popular arcade shooter for the Quest for the longest time but it got old since it hasn’t been updated in a while. Because of this game I’ve been picking up my Quest daily again! Love the graphics and physics. Just the right amount of challenge and difficulty too. Can’t wait for the Zombie survival mode!
This game is a very intense one. Once your through the tutorial, that's where the fun begins, I've only been playing VR for about 2 months now and this game is one of my favorites. I can't wait for everything to be done! The only problem I'm seeing currently is in level 6, when you've eliminated all of the enemies from the window, you look towards the soldier to continue and if your to close to the window when you do so, you'll clip through the wall, other than that, can't complain. The day after I'm posting this review I will be making videos on this game. I'm very excited to see what is to come in the future for this game!
Great work in progress. tried this on the rift then installed it on my quest and i think its shaping up to be a great title.it can be quite challenging at times and i can only imagine as it progresses it only going to get harder.great for just picking up. think time crisis but in vr. i would say the pc is better for the comfort but the quest is better in your freedom of movement.
Gun spinning, dual wielding, slow motion, and grenades. This game is great
I have just completed the first level and boy let me say it's a lot of fun!
Great game! What first drew me to play this game was the explosion animations... As a 3d animator I love low poly explosions and smoke! I love shooting around the doors...
Non stop action!
I love the diversity of each level.
The riot shield is my favorite thing!
I love the look and feel of this game.
One of the best arcade action games in VR!
Amazing game play & graphics! One of the few games that I will go back to replay all the levels. This game belongs in the Oculus store! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see what's next. I can tell you put in a lot of time and effort.
Super nostalgia from playing arcade shooters in theatres as a small child. Lots of fun, super technical, and quite hard sometimes. Definately worth the play!
One of the best VR Shooter ever! Just came by for a little test and now I cant stop playing. I really love it. Thanks for this amazing Game
must recomend its a grate game if you like arcade shoters it has very grabing game play i cant wait to see what the game will offer at a later date
This game is amazing. Hands down one of the best first-person shooter games. Having to hold the button down the whole time to hold your gun does get a little tiresome after a bit, but that could just be because I am new to VR. It is a little hard to aim in VR, but that is something I will get used to. Overall this game is excellent and a must-play. The levels are a little tricky but it is a really fun immersive game.
Your game is amazing and I really hope it finds it way into the Oculus Store, I loved it. I hope you are the first ones to incorporate a turret into a game, that would be fun as hell.
This game is actually one of my favorite shooters on the Quest hands down, it runs super smoothly and I haven't ever really had issues with it - I would highly recommend anyone to download and play this if you haven't already! 5/5 For You Guys! (Can't wait for the Zombie mode/full release!)
One of the best FPS shooters on SideQuest overall the game wasn't too hard but it had some challenge in it i do hope this game will become an official Oculus game so more people can enjoy it's gameplay
Really good game. From the usual slew of games where it feels like a teenager with some free time thought of something and crappily implemented it in vr, this game actually feels like there was some thought and care put into it. I feel like a badass when i dual wield two ar's and mow down a bunch of bad guys.
This game is super fun, but I would love to see more levels. Cant wait to try the new gun out. ;)
The Game is actually pretty fun. I played the first level and got busy with something then started hearing gun fire and noticed my son playing he is having a blast with the game. He is already in level 3. Gonna have to kick him out pretty soon, the gameplay is sounding like too much fun.
This takes me back to my youth popping coins in the arcade machines on classic shooters like Operation Wolf. They've included some great features utilising the 360 of VR and enough weapons and accessories so far to keep you amused for a few hours. I am amazed at how polished it is already and it is only going to get better. I'm concerned your captain in it looks like he needs to go pee alot!
This is a great game it's fun and intense it gets hard and makes good back round game-play for my channel I would %100 recommend this game
Operation Serpens is an awesome, arcade style shooting game where there is no locomotion so it’s very comfortable to play and is always just to the point. Shoot the bad guys. There is a different challenge each level and that’s what I love about the game. Guns feel good, reloading is amazing, and enemy AI is pretty fair. My favorite mission so far probably has to be Lady Python. ( I’m at viper at the moment.) Great game, this game should be paid because for free, this is an awesome experience. Recommend, 9.5/10. (Oculus Quest)
The game is very cool and the controls are easy to remember. The levels are hard enough.
Operation Serpens is a great arcade style shooter game with good shooting mechanics and unique levels. I recommend this to people who are looking for a fun arcade shooter
This game is super fun! I love how it is not trying to be super realistic graphics, because when people do that for the quest, in my opinion, it doesn't look very good.
A true arcade classic style of game. If you just want to have a bit of fun and kill some bad guys? THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU! Fire at will and reload with a press of a button. Nothing complicated and too serious, just lots of fun. Thank you for making this game, as it is what the Quest truly needed. Keep up the good work T
I'm having a lot of fun with the pre-release, and the devs are awesome. They're really tightening up everything with each update, and also adding new content at the same time
I've been playing this since it was released and Im amazed at how far this game has come, its ridiculously good. I urge everybody with a Quest and pc access to use sidequest especially for games like this.
I remember commenting on a post about this game probably a month ago. It was in regards to the reloading. I love the immersion of loading a mag into a gun and pulling the chamber back. With this game, reloading is simply a button press and/or bringing the weapon waist height. That is only draw back for me, personally. Regardless of whether you do or don't I'm still going to be playing this for years to come as I'm sure most if not all sidequest users will be.
Tldr; I was wondering if you was or still are going to look into fleshing out the reloading?
I personally really enjoy when VR games call for us to do things we don’t normally (or couldn’t) do in flat games. This strikes me as one of those times, so I think this looks fun and extra immersive.
Only reason i downloaded sidequest, youre missing out if you dont have this downloaded!
Great game .... I played through levels 1 - 5 and I am quite sure this is one of the best games on Sidequest. With some simple refinements and maybe adding co-op I could see this being a top game on the Quest. Kudos to the Devs.
This is a great game it's fun and intense it gets hard and makes good back round game-play for my channel I would %100 recommend this game
A real unexpected gem.
Stumbled upon it by accident in a Facebook group, played the native Quest demo, and now I can enjoy this game with PCVR!
It's a lighthearted and humoristic game, with a bunch of bad-♥♥♥ moments (dual wielding automatic weapons? yes please), cartoonish appearance and non-stop action. The developers keep adding new levels and are being attentive to feedback, on both native and PC versions.
Operation Serpens fondly reminds me of my teenage self putting coins into arcade machines, for this exact kind of experience, only on a flat screen.
Also, it's free, so there isn't really a question here.
Nice arcade shooter. Just remember to duck often. No bugs found, but sometimes I don't get where I am shot at.
Feedback is good, very good! I love the ability to reload with a single button rather than having to simulate it and lose sight of your target. Definitely keep that!! I was able to play it pretty much full room scale which was faultless, inch for inch felt bang on, and that dude climbing up the wall spooked the shit out of me the first time, Kudos. After that he was a great inconvenience, interrupting my gun focus and refreshing the focal point, making it feel more immersive. Do more shifting of focus closer and farther away: it grounds the experience after a two minute slog against window mannequins a hundred yards away. You've got a great bunch of assets, the commander who explains everything is hilarious - his animations betraying what he's saying - that's another thing you have to keep. It elevates the player above the authority figure immediately. I can't wait to play more and see what's going to happen next. Oh, and this is the first game where I've been able to holster a sniper rifle and still pull off a headshot. Ooh! Some recognition for headshots? You know the players want it. Good luck, I can't wait to see how well you develop this. It's also more forgiving then crisis Vrigade, which is so welcome.
Ha ha, I've just spotted the enemies dancing and celebrating in their windows during the game over screen! Golden!!!
Dude, so funny - the character animations dancing and parading between levels. Any chance of a cross hair, or blood to know when you've made the kill? I really really enjoyed playing this tonight, so refreshing and funny.
I played again after posting and made it to the next level. It just kept getting better and better. Of course I'll post a review. Genuinely very impressed with the game. Totally understand about the blood, that makes sense, and as for cross hairs I appreciate how difficult it would be - and who knows, maybe there's a weapon in the next level that has laser sights.
Honestly, pretty solid game, I waited to write this review until the most recent update came out (currently 8/31/2020). I'm glad i did because some of what I was going to say is now obsolete. I haven't extensively searched the levels for hidden secrets either.
The good:
-Honestly, the level design is pretty solid. A couple levels did feel like the dragged on a *bit* too long but it isn't to the point of rage quitting at the end of the level because you died.
-hearing "HEADSHOT" every time you land a headshot and seeing the funny animation always gives me a chuckle.
-Another point on levels: The variety is perfect. The levels aren't stale at all.
-Haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs.
-The difficulty feels right. It isn't too hard to where you're dying all the time, but it isn't too easy where you can win if you don't pay attention.
-The sniper's scope feels more realistic than some other sniper in further along titles.
The nitpicks:
-Aiming seems a *hair* off. Not quite sure what exactly. Could also just be my hands are shaky.
-The sight on the sniper can be hard to use. Not necessarily a fault of the developers, but something hard to do in VR in general when there is nothing to physically brace against. As stated before, my hands can be shaky, so its just a personal nitpick.
-Reloading seems super easy, although that seems to be the point and if reloading was slow and realistic then the difficulty would likely be too crazy.
-Sometimes the 2 handed rifle (I forget which one, fully automatic) decides to just break. No real reason, somewhat frustrating though at times.
-Sometimes the AI get stuck behind certain geometry and either just sit there or shoot at you (although they don't really do anything to you) and can't move or be hit without some serious reaching.
Overall a great arcade-styled shooting gallery for the low low price of FREE! I definitely enjoyed my time and will definitely be keeping up with the coming updates. I'd honestly give the game a solid 8/10 simply for being a fun use of my time even with my couple nitpicks. I definitely recommend giving this game a shot (pun intended).
A great game here have fun and Best the sidequest for shooters my fav!
Ive just discovered this game yesterday and am really enjoying the hi pace shooting experience. The comfort of the player being in a fixed position is really helpful to those that get motion sickness. Top notch game
A good fun indie game - Definitely has a nostalgia feel to it - like jumping into those now old arcade games that you shoot with plastic guns. Really enjoyed it! Worth checking out if have a bit of time to spare.
Great and fun with having enemys in diffrent situations! sidequest 8/30/2020 Joshuafbarrera Barcode:3953
This feels like a VR take on the old lightgun arcade cabinets like Operation: Wolf, and as someone who grew up playing tons of those, this is a lot of fun. The shooting can feel a bit janky at times, especially with the full auto weapons, but it's still a blast to just spray a full magazine at a crowd of bad guys :D
this game is really fun, it feels like an arcade shooter with better graphics
Ok i want to be honest with you.... This looks like it is shaping up to be a pretty solid game. The first level from the elevator to now has really started to impress, and i like the diversity you've put into the levels. The first impression of the elevator level, while it looked fun didn't have enough to grab me to download. All if the additions look marvelous... Keep it up!
I'm not really into shooters, but this is one of the better ones I've played. Had some comical stuff in there too.
I Love this game, The archade style is very well implemented and love the jokes. can't wait for the zombie mode. It's going to be SICK!!
This game is a lot of fun, i think you should add more board with 360 degrees of attacks, and this update that I downloaded didnt have the additional board, Kingsnake - Night Patrol), the boards are feeling kinda easy to complete, so I hope you all create a lot of boards
This game is probably my favorite shooter demo. The graphics are very clean. They didn't get to deep into gun function etc, pretty much point, shoot, reload button. I like the look and feel, please add a bunch more levels!! :)
Great fun of a game. This is my first go on a VR shooter game and I've had lots of fun playing.
Great arcade shooter that still has more content coming up, the developers are incredibly nice and accept feedback, the guns are fluid, combat is great, and the game looks stunning
This game is sooo awesome! It is just fun, especially the driving mission. Just try it, it's free!
Really fun shooter game. Graphics are quite good. I liked animations characters made when explaining missions or when celebrating. Fast pace action. There are still bugs present. More then one time I droped my hand gun from hand even though I didn't let go of the trigger. Some kind of tutorial at the beginning would be usefull. I successfully completed 3/5 levels. Don mamba level i had to quit after many tries, simply to hard for me. And newest Viper level i was confused where the asset was at the beginning.. So I quit after sevral tries. Overall really good shooter game with nice shooting mechanics. There is still room for improvement.
In conclusion I think it is a really fun game and if i had friends around i would definitely want them to play its really serious but that's what makes it fun and makes people want to play more so you shouldn't make it to realistic but i really enjoyed and i want to see it in the future and i recommend it to everyone that likes gun games but people who can also have a laugh and i think a lot of people will like it
THIS GAME IS SO GREAT I had so much fun when you shoot them you can you the car and you over all just feel like a bad ass just watch this video from steve knows
I found it very fun, and much better than I expected. I also found that it had a nice difficulty, as it wasn't easy. Sometimes I wish there where checkpoints though, as if felt like it took a while to complete a level.
and it was annoying to start again when you died
SUCH A GREAT GAME! 10/10 would reccomend. I really enjoyed the difficulty and how the game played, and the tips that I would give would be adding some checkpoints if you died (Make them optional though) as it can be very frustrating if you die at the end of a level.
In this video, I am trying out 'OPERATION SERPENS,' a new VR shooter by Ginra Tech. I had a ton of fun playing this. If you liked the playstyle and animations of Pavlov, you'll definitely like this one.

this is incredible game and totally deserves the high rating :)
FANTASTIC GAME One of the best VR ARCADE SHOOTERS ive played in vr .
Pick it up now .... Well go on then ....
Heres a video of me playing it
https://youtu.be/O3pFbCh_lMg
Hey man, I absolutely loved this game. It is actually my favorite vr game ever! I do feel a little weird about bullets hurting you only when hitting weapons, but I hope that there will be another player hitbox, not just the guns! Anyways, keep up the hard work mate! Also, the animations do look a bit like they are from sims but ok...
Suggestions: player hitbox, not just guns; adjustable bullet travel speed and damage for difficulty levels.
-GhostlyOof
Really fun game. I really enjoyed the sense of power given. It is also good if you get motion sick. Althooug, I do not sufer from motion sickness I know people who do and on the levels when you stay still it is really good. Anyway I would highley recomend this game.
This is an incredibly good game. I think that the playing style is fantastic, with different weapons. While I am still on the first level, I can tell that this is a polished game. The art style is really good too. It's cartoony enough to run on the quest but not so cartoony that it semes like its a low-poly game. I also really like how active the devs are on discord and the fact that they have a whole channel dedicated to suggestions.
I give this game a 5/5.
Great game! I've been playing since the original beta test, and this game has improved so much. It has so much potential. The gun mechanics are very good, but the only complaint I have with them are that the reloading does not feel realistic, because you press a button instead of reloading with ur hands. But other than that, the game is great, the levels are hard and fun to play. I rate this game a 5/5.
Operation Serpens unveils its sixth level
After a very original 5th level , the developer has just revealed the 6th level to us, which should not be late.
We must salute the important work that this developer is doing, especially since the game is really interesting now that it offers many missions.
I would also like to point out that I added the title to my list of free games to own on Oculus quest.
If you want to get a little idea of what this next mission will bring, it's right here:
https://www.vr-gamerz.fr/2020/08/21/operation-serpens-devoile-son-sixieme-niveau/
So far so good for this polished title. I am about 3 levels in and have to say the dev's and designers are producing a very good game. The game itself has an arcade feel to it, however the gun dynamics are excellent...when you aim, you know where the bullet is going to go. The graphics are both well designed and detailed, and the weapon models are great. The gameplay is very much a wave type shooter, with more enemies appearing in waves, along with the obligatory boss battles in the levels. The level designs are great, from a window looking down and across a street, to a lift level where you progress from floor to floor (this is a great level to play). Of particular note are the headshots...once you hit your first one, you will want to hit headshots all the time. I have played the game both sitting down and standing up. For the first 2 levels its easy to play sitting down, howeverf once you get to the third level its much easier to play standing up as the enemies come at you from all angles. You can use the joystick to turn however its easie and quicker to do it standing up (or in a chair that spins round). The devs are constantlybringing out new levels and updates as you can see above and as each new update arrives, new additions and enhancements just add to the already great game.
The only thing I didnt like, and whilst not confined to this game is something that I dont usually suffer from. When using the joystick to turn I get motion sickness quite quickly. This has happened on a couple of games (Scavengers Odyssey on the PSVR was by far the worst (usually get about 5 minutes in that before I have to stop)) however it doesnt last long. I dont know if its the turn mechanic that does it, or if its just me and my old head, so I wont mark the game down for that as its otherwise a fantastic title.
If you havent played this yet, then why not. Get it installed and give the product team some praise for this excellent title.
I will upload some gameplay later to add to the review here showing the gameplay.
This Game is amazing!!! It feels solid and overall fun to play
awesome game, this game has a fun yet difficult feel to it and all the mechanics like reloading, the loading screen and even the tutorial at the beginning are perfect, i really enjoy this game and i hope you will too
Game is a really fun arcadey type shooter. Visually it looks great gameplay is great. Only things I would like to see change is the subtitles when being spoken to for me were really low in my FOV so I could only see half of them. Also more grenades either on constant respawn or just a couple more per level would be good. Finally just add a little more focus on to the fact you have health might of just been me being stupid but I didnt figure it out till I picked up a riot shield. Overall cant wait to see where this game goes keep up the good work
Updated 8/16/20: With the release of Level 5, this game has surpassed Crisis VRigade IMHO. The variance of the levels and the weapons make this one of the best games on SideQuest and on the Quest overall. Seriously if you are even slightly interested in shooting games this is a mush have in your collection. If you want to relive the days of the arcade shooters from your past this is the one for you.
I am so looking forward to Horde mode.
Review Update: I did not review the game after the 4th level was released. This level was great ging from room to room and shooting up the bad guys. I have yet to beat it but it is every bit as good as the previous three levels.
Review Update 7/17/20: The 3rd level is amazing. The moment the boss jumped over my head was really an incredible VR moment. Do yourself a favor if you like shooters and check this one out. I will continue to update my review because this game just keeps getting better and better.
Old Review...Beat level 1. The second level was a lot of fun and finding the shield in there was a nice bonus.
Operation Serpens is a fantastically fun arcade shooter. Despite the fact you are shooting bad guys, the game is kid friendly with its creative characters and nostalgic art style. It really brings back that old school 1980's arcade feel. As a real steel shooter and former US Army weapons trainer, I really enjoyed playing this game. I recommend this game for ages 12-adult. Enjoy.
This is a pretty cool game! It's a difficult arcade shooter. lack of difficulty settings, no manual reload, and not much variety to the levels keeps me from giving it a 5 star. It's definitely worth playing though, difficult ly is pretty fun and sometimes the simplicity of hitting a button is better than realism. 4/5
This game is a load of fun, but is pretty damn hard. I have only been able to beat two of the missions, witch a good thing as a lot of free vr games tend to be easy and quick. It's a great vr game to have in your library, and it's FREE you are losing nothing getting this game. So play it and have fun with it. It's honestly one of the best vr games in steam in my opinion.
If you enjoyed games like Time Crissis, Gunblade and Police 24/7 you'll have a lot of fun with this because it takes some of the coolest elements from each.
Nice array of weapons so far including pistols, machine guns, snipers and grandades and each level feels very different.
I've played this more than any other SideQuest game and lhe developers listen to feedback and are constantly updating the game.
Fun shooting gallery, very simple but well implemented. Nice touches like usable scopes.
I've been waiting for a game like this for SO long.
you have done the best job this better go on the oculus store
I’ve played it, it has a appealing art style, and the gun models look good, the levels are fun and the game plays well, it’s not too difficult and not too easy. It has good gameplay. It doesn’t have any major issues but here are Some possible improvements that could be made: skippable level intros, checkpoints so the player doesn’t have to replay the whole level again , some of the characters crowd the player, from what I could tell all the guns used the same projectiles but just with different damage it may be nice to have the shotgun fire a scatter shot. It may be nice if the player was able to move in the even if it was confined.
I do understand that some of these issues by design, so ignore any such comments
Ok here's my feedback. The game is fun at it's core. It feels like those old arcade games where you'd shoot people as they popped up. Few suggestions: #1 the tutorial needs to mention where to see your health. #2 shorten the levels. I felt like I was shooting enemies for ever on certain levels with no real change in the game play. You should only have to shoot 20 ish guys before moving on to a new are or scene. But other than that well done! keep up the good work. I'd love to see an endless mode where you just have to survive as long as possible.
Thank you for giving us a great fun game. Arcade shooter, just pop on my quest and SHOOT !!!! Keep us the great work.
This game is super fun! Feels like those arcade games where you would have a gun and shoot all the bad guys as they popped up. Suggestion: You should probably mention in your tutorial where you see your health.
Tried level 5 last night. Man, that is one tough level! Impressed with the way the trucks stacked up and overwhelmed me because i didn't take them out quickly enough. Great work, the duck down option is a great help, and as with all the other levels the fun factor is off the scales! 👍👍
Played it for the first time yesterday. It is AWESOME!!! I only played the intro level through to the end, but this game will consume much of my weekend. Great job. One of the best games on Sidequest. I expect it will be on par with Pavlov, tea of gods, and Crisis Vrigade as far as downloads go.
Very fun and polished game. Can be challenging at times but it is still fun. reminds me of Crisis VRigade
Hey so I finished the Review tonight, I couldn't post all of it, so I kept it brief on Sidequest, but here are all my thought that I had on it.
Since I was personally asked to test this game I will give my honest review. At first I was a little confused by this game, I went in with a blank state of mind. It was different from the 5ish second gif. I was immediately introduced and briefed on the situation and given a sniper rifle.
Motion/comfort- (keep in mind I played sitting down at this time) I relied on the rotation to look around for the most part, I didn't notice much at first but when I started needing it more when I accidentally started a way harder mission that required a lot of 360 degrees of movement, I then realized how slow and wonky it was, It would first rotate alright, but when I stopped rotating, I don't know what it was, but it shuffled a little bit, this shuffle or whatever it was eventually started giving me some motion sickness, and motion sickness is something that isn't good for an experience like this. What I'm trying to say, as of right now, if you want to play this game and have fun without sickness, I recommend standing up, physically turning and making the gameplay go by much smoother.
Animation- Now going back for a second, I did say I accidently started this one specific mission, I wish it would have asked if I was ready for it or something so I didn't just pop in it out of nowhere. The animations for the most part are ok, there are times where it gets super wack these times usually being when you catch the enemy they would do a surrendering animation and it would look a little funky. Not all the animations are bad though the ragdoll animations from when you kill them are pretty satisfying, especially when you use the shotgun or get a headshot. When the big guy jumps over you in slow motion it is the weirdest most demonic thing it's almost funny, I let my sister play to see what she thought and when I told her to look up she thought it was creepy haha. I had a problem once, that after I shot the target in the shooting range multiple times in the chest with a pistol quickly, the part where the bullet makes an impact started to stay there floating for a bit longer than was probably expected.
Guns & Grenades- I liked the pretty decent variety of guns allowed to use, I liked how you also included a shield for some wusses like me haha. I like how the guns felt, they exceeded my expectations. One gun however, didn’t fit the cut for me. For a fast pace game, s slow shooting sniper rifle was not the gun to use, I liked how the made the gun movement a bit slowish on purpose so it would be easier to aim guns, especially the sniper rifle for precise shots. But then again I can’t see myself using the sniper rifle for these sort of situations. My most favorite gun would probably have to be the shotgun or the blue/purple LMG. I loved the ragdoll physics for when you killed a group with a shotgun (they go flying haha), but it is also very fun gunning down people like rambo was gunning down all those documents with his M60. The only problem other than the sniper, is that when I first used the shotgun I thought it was a slug because of the one white pellet you can see when you shoot, after a while I figured out that I don't need to be 100% accurate with it. Grenades were cool when I finally figured out what each did, it took me a while to figure out that the flashbang did something, It slows down time. I wish it was explained to me, if it was, I must have not been listening closely.
Graphics- At first I saw it was (what I considered) a weird style of people. I then grew to like this new style and thought it was adorable at times. The guns looked smooth and had nice decals. Didn’t see many problems with the graphics, they could be toned up or not either way they are still acceptable for me.
Additional things?- I feel like things you should add would maybe be like a killstreak type deal, but they need a solid amount for a killstreak. I feel like that would be a good addition to the chaos that is already going on. I wish the soldier I was with In one of the missions actually helped, instead all I saw him do was kneel in one spot the entire time and just tell me to be careful or something. Maybe if possible add more emotion to the face of the bosses, and make it something that would suit them. Seeing a big buff strong looking guy start dancing like a princess was a bit weird and a little uncomfortable to look at at times.
Overall thoughts- I quite enjoyed this game, more than I thought if I were to be honest. When It started getting more fast paced, as long as I wasn’t sitting down and using the slow funky rotation, I was having a blast gunning down foes with a shotgun on the right and a shield on the left. So do expect to be turning and seeing bodies flying. Even my sister that usually never plays VR games still had a blast, I am excited to see where this goes.
Thank you for asking, I had fun trying it out. I wish you a great night.
just tried it.
What a great game.
Turning speed with joystick is a little slow for me. Slow turning makes me nauseous. Can you speed that up or put snap turn it.
The first level was great.
When the guys climb up building in front of you and you shoot them, it would be great if you could grab their guns when they fall. I couldn't grip their weapons.
Managed to get to second level. And wow there bullets coming from everywhere lol.
It's certainly a fast wave shooter.
Well done so far. Double thumbs up👍👍
it has a lot of potential!
I love the art style and it matches what you were going for perfectly
one of the things i think you should add is checkpoints though
after every wave because it can be a bit frustrating to lose your progress
i didnt find any bugs from what i played
the game is well optimised and ran smooth
An Awesome Free title Available on Oculus Quest & SteamVR for FREE! A Hidden Gem, In this Shooter you are trying to take down an Organized Crime Mob called Evil Snakes. It get crazy you dodging bullets and killing enemies React Fast and enjoy the Carnage! More Levels Coming soon.
Very polished. The range of weapons is nice. The shield is a really nice touch as well. Player models / actions have some humor to them as well. Over all would give more than 5 stars if possible!
Like shooters but hate motion sickness ? This is the game for you ! You play a member of a generic, very polite army unit (your commander greets with with a friendly "hello !") charged with taking out assorted generic terrorists. You're in a fixed location, e.g. firing from a building into a street, or behind a door into a room, so you can move around if you want but you don't need to move much at all - no need for scrolling, and indeed that feature is not enabled. You get a variety of guns and accessories, including a bulletproof shield. Decent graphics (cartoony but not overly-so in style), good sound, lots of fun. Potentially quite addictive, though holding my arms straight out for long periods gets very tiring. Challenging but not absurdly so. I'm giving this 8/10.

The game is really nice so far! Well done! The only thing that I would change is the scope of the sniper rifle to be bigger to see targets better but other than that the objectives are nice, graphics, voice acting is really good. Gun models are really good for a free game, sound effects are good. I really like this game :)
Had time to play two missions this weekend, played 3 and 4. Some feedback:
Explosives in 4 were way too punishing with a one shot failure. I made it to the third room and accidentally hit one trying to hit an enemy around the corner and had to restart.
I really liked mission 3, having to shoot the baddies around the target was a nice twist.
Sounds are great now with one exception - the silenced pistol and the regular pistol sound identical. That’s really my only audio complaint.
The dual hand controls on the rifle are great, really helped with controlling the much improved recoil. It’s so much more in line with what I’d expect now.
All the other bugs I had encountered are cleared up, and I didn’t have any others pop up in my short play test. I’ll put more time into it in the future when I have some free time to see what I can break.
Operation Serpens is still in development and this is currently a pre release version available through SideQuest with additional levels being added, i believe that the fith one is currently being worked on as we speak.
The game is best described as a Time Crisis, Virtua Cop or Operation Wolf wave shooters, with each being a scene where you are to capture the leader of the enemy. I have played three of the first levels available, the first being opposite a street of apartments with enemies appearing in windows, on roofs and along the street. This level is also a little bit of a tutorial where you are introduced to the different weapons available to you. The other two levels I have played, include inside an office block and a suburban street and in this one the Quest's 360 degree arena is utilised well s enemies come from all directions.
The visuals are a modern take on the classic nineties, with large 3D characters, with smoother pixels. The settings are colourful and nicely detailed and the cut scenes are animated, with you general giving you instructions prior to each mission starting. (he is far to laid back, sitting cross legged in an armchair or waving to you as the lift doors close, i don't trust him one bit).
The gun play is solid, nicely drawn weapons track perfectly and the shooting feels accurate making it easy to aim and shoot the enemy.
So far this is looking like being a classic interpretation of the retro arcade cabinet shooters, it definitely has a feeling of one more go and has enough challenge and difficulty to make you want to continue playing.
This week we're diving into Operation Serpens, an action-packed VR cover-based shooter available free for the Oculus Quest. Recent updates have turned this neat little experience into a hardcore wave-based shooter with a fun, cartoon twist.
This is a very good game! Generally, I do not like arcade-style shooter games, but this one was able to grab my attention with just getting right into the heat of the moment, no waiting around - you get right to what you want, shooting the bad guys. It is a simple premise with fun gameplay that has replay value, I very much recommend this to people interested in arcade genre games
Class Retro Styled Shooter
Already looking really polished, this is a turning into a brilliant shooter that harks back to the nineties arcade cabinet games. In visual style nineties feel is very much maintained, however the characters are more polished in detail and animation the locations are bright and nicely detailed, the weapons too have great detail.
Gameplay is very much in the arcade style, enemies appear quickly, you have ability to duck, which allows you to take cover whilst reloading, very much like Time Crisis, this being VR you can of course crouch and fire over or around shelter yourself. The levels I have played so far already feel complete, with the Quest‘s 360 degree of freedom allowing enemies to attack you from all directions. Other levels will have you crouching behind items for protection. Enemy attacks can feel over powering, so you will need the use of the stun or drag grenades, to either slow down the action or blow away groups of them.
This is very much work in progress, with levels and polish to the existing ones being added all the time. It’s already a brilliant arcade shooter that I would highly recommend playing and keeping an eye on.
Hey there, I managed to play a little tonight as I know you are eager for feedback Grinning face with smiling eyes
I noted down a bunch of points I will throw below and can ask for more details on any specific ones if you want Grinning face with smiling eyes
Gun models and designs are very cool.
I played the first 2 levels and overall I loved the visual designs and character models etc, low key but works well.
The dancing soldiers made me laugh, a very nice touch.
At the end of the first level Al cobras hands when held up are the wrong way around and look like his wrists are broken.
Soldiers on my team were shooting and I could see the animation and flash of their guns but couldn’t hear any shots or sounds related to their weapons
Assault rifle phase on first level seemed to go on for far too long without any variation. Perhaps change the perspective to different windows? Or get down to street level?
I found the first level far too easy and I didn’t dodge any shots and survived taking tons of hits without dying.
In your team environment, Soldiers have no reaction to getting shot, it would make it more fun if you could at least get a dialogue response to tell you to stop friendly fire etc
In the environment when shooting objects they don’t react to getting shot, laptop monitor should crack etc for fun
It would be good to hear more background dialogue from soldiers in base and on mission, it could be funny movie quotes style (see Crisis VRigade 2 for reference of how they did similar and was popular)
The game performs really well and is very smooth
Consider adding option for realistic reload to grab clip off side or belt etc and slide into gun and cock to reload
Maybe look at adding almost like health to the riot shield so that it gets damaged and eventually breaks when getting shot at, it would look cool and add more immersion and pressure to the gameplay
It mentioned not to shoot civilians but I did and I had no kind of penalty for doing so that I noticed.
This will want to have online leaderboards.
Loved the health, progress and accuracy represented on your hands and also the riot shield. Very well done
Maybe have it so grenades can get thrown at you and you need to throw them back or take big damage
Add unlockables such as different weapons And weapon skins
Hopefully this is helpful feedback!
I will refrain from doing a video on this yet as I’m sure there are more updates on the way and I will wait to when I think I can help promote the game the best but eager to help and give ideas
Great game. It brings me back to my childhood. I did the best with the AK-47. It spawned right when I needed it. I think some of the subtitles are placed a little too close to the camera. Other than that it's great. Can't wait to see future levels or capabilities. Multi-player would be great!
Nice fun little shooting arcade game
I played through the first two stages and here are my first impressions
First, I really like the idea of the game however I feel like the art styles in the game clashed a little. The character animations were really goofy however the game felt serious. Also, some of the surroundings had a low poly feel to them which was cool however the characters and the guns were higher definition and felt more realistic. As for the gameplay it is really fun and fast paced. It is different than the other VR shooters we have now. I think you should add waves to the levels. I found myself a little confused playing through the stages because I had no idea how long each stage was and I had little time to think before more people walked into view. I think adding waves would give the player a little time to think and catch their breath before the next wave as well as giving them some sense on how close they are to beating it. I think the guns should have a little more recoil and should feel a bit punchier. The recoil feels smooth which is a bit odd. Also, throwing the player into the first stage like that felt like a lot to handle. I can see that you were trying to incorporate a tutorial into the first stage but the first stage had a lot going on. I feel like if you made the tutorial and the first stage separate it will give the player a sense of what is to come without throwing them right in. All that aside, the game concept is really good and I would like to see where it goes from here
this game is really fun and difficult. Though I hate dying, because I have to listen to his introduction to the level every time, which kinda ruins the gameplay a bit because you were just in a warzone, and then you have to listen to the guy again. The last level I still haven't beaten because it's so difficult not that there's anything wrong with that I quite enjoy it being difficult. I feel like there should be a little more recoil on the assault rifles because every chance I got to use them I always dual wielded them. Also if you can maybe put some bullet lines or at least make the bullets a little bigger because I sometimes felt like I got hit by nothing. But, it's a great game. It has a lot of potential
Pretty good game for starting VR Users, Basic controls and fun gameplay.
very fun game!!!! the developing team and also the community manager is amazing cant wait to play more!!!!!
This game is huge fun to play, and despite the action quickly becoming quite frantic early on, there's enough breathing room to allow the player to dodge or sidestep the deluge of incoming fire thanks to the enemy bullet speed being much slower than your own. Jump scares here and there, hilarious character animations, and varying play styles as you level up keep this game fresh and different.
Played in CV1, full room scale which translated perfectly inch by inch within the game environment. Unfortunately I'm limited by two front facing sensors, and so got lost by the sensors a couple of times on the "Gorgon" level, but never once did I feel overwhelmed.
Hit boxes are nice and generous, and the the ability to reload a weapon with just one button instead of having to manually simulate reloading - and therefore losing your line of sight - is a very welcome mechanic which keeps the focus on frantic fun, and there's a great range of weapons provided for different scenarios. All in all, this game is far better than many games I've paid money for.
If you get a chance to try this great little title you won't be disappointed. Kudos to the dev, Itzik, he's done an incredible job in 94 days, and he's always looking for and is thankful for feedback.
super game fast and simple
This is really cool. I like shooting games, but I find most of them too intense, plus I suffer from motion sickness. This game allows me to have fun shooting the enemy without having to worry about moving around. I especially enjoyed the dance with my fellow army dudes. Great job. Has you continue to improve I wonder if there will be movement, if so, please keep those of us who suffer with motion sickness in mind.
Amazing little on rail shooter that reminds me of time crisis and other arcade shooters. The art style is great for the quest! It would be nice to have a advance and beginner option for reloading as the button press isn't satsifying. However the dev is always updating the game and I love it so far!
Great little arcade shooter, very fast and fun, I personally don't have a 360 VR setup so, it can get a bit sickly having to slowly spin on the spot, maybe an option for snap turning could be added? But overall good game.
damn, its really good
i love the weapon skins
the only thing i would add is a better health indicator
you have to drop one of your weapons to check
It's definitely a good game, ya ya graphic and environment remains, but its still fun but i still cant clear lvl 2, may be i need to give a call to rambo Keep bringing lvls, surely i will reach there
Hi there! Sorry I’m getting back to you a couple days late! I’ve been very busy!
Here are some of the bugs I found:
- I noticed that some of the shots of the enemies would render through walls and damage me at times.
- I had a hug at one point where the game wouldn’t even load in and I was stuck in the loading screen. I fixed it via uninstall and reinstall.
And onto suggestions:
- For when you’re holding the rifle/s with 2 hands i noticed that it seems to have a sway or like delay to it almost and I often found it frustrating when I was trying to aim fast and quick.
- I also noticed the sergeants voice sounds like it’s robotic and was recorded inside of a large room. I recommend just re-recording the audio and using a better microphone, it’s not a huge deal but it’d be nice and more immersive.
- For the shots and stuff the blast light from the barrel of the guns should be brighter so it feels like I’m shooting an actual gun.
- Also the turning and what not it VERY slow and I often found myself having to rotate IRL to look where I’m wanting to, it’s not a bad thing it’s just It’d be nice if you could rotate faster.
- Next thing I noticed was the scope of the sniper rifle. It’s very confusing and hard to aim with. I feel as though it’d be better if you just got rid of the red semi-crosshair on it so it looks nicer and it’s easier on the eyes. The red made it so hard to see what I was aiming at that I had to like look around it a few times.
- I also found myself taking damage when I’d block a bullet with my gun and it was a bit frustrating because the enemies would always aim for the gun if seemed.
- There were times when I’d get stumped on a level and I’d have to listen through the dialogue again, it’d be nice if you could see it so you could skip it? Maybe like a black screen?
- Also one last thing! More levels!! I know you guys just released one so no rush! But I’d love to see more of them!
That’s all from me! Y’all are doing awesome with this game!
Its a great game but quite difficult. It has amazing potential though!
Operation Serpens is a great and funny shooter. Lots of details from enemies on roof tops, inside windows, on the streets, to scaring the hell out of me by climbing the building and popping right in front of me. I liked looking through the sniper rifle and head shooting enemies. Great Job
model /enviroment 10/10 guns 10/10 reload 9/10 not the reload i wish but the best for this game mehcanic 10/10
Hey sorry it took so long but I have now played the first 4 levels and I must say it’s pretty good
Yes, thank you for the link. I was able to successfully join the discord. Glad to hear the elevator part was fixed, haven't had a chance to play the third level yet. But looking forward to it as the game continues to get updated. I seen on the discord that someone mentioned a reload mechanic. Maybe having the option for advance and beginner users, for beginners it would just be a button press how it current is. But for advanced users/settings they would have to grab a magazine from their chest/belt
okay so i just end the level and i want to say
Can you stop make good things ?
so he remind me a lot of the elevator level but this time is room and not floor
do all of the level withe pistol is kinda hard but that make original the more original is see in the game the level who is 360° and we have to not kill the bad guys
i love your game is pretty hard but thta a game who is eassy to handle and hard to master
by the way is see the grenade finger missing and i was totally laughing about that when is discoverded that
I am so sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I was busy with some stuff. But I have played through the game again and I love it even more! Level 3 is honestly the best level in the game. Constatly spinning around, checking my back for enemy's, is so fun! The weapons felt better with the recoil but still didn't give a real reason to not one-hand the shotgun or other two-handed weapons. I think the recoil should activate when a bullet is fired instead of when the trigger is pulled so the AR is terrible if you don't use both hands. The new flashbang is a great idea that adds alot, however, I've found a bug where if a bullet hits your weapon, you take damage. I think if the flashbang was used, you should be able to block bullets with your gun. Honestly, this game is great, and I hope to be helpful to future development. :)
Wow amazing update.
I did not notice any bug. I see that grenades were added.
So much fun!! The levels are not easy, they are challenging. I like that.
i like the recoil
the ability to see your hands when holding the gun would be amazing. also the gun doesn't tilt when you tilt your hands to the right
when gripped with both hands
also the shield isn't very absorbent and needs to be more see through
feels good though
My old review 3/5 "Its not bad... its not great either. graphics are good for what your going for but the combat... oh my... Guns need to have way more recoil when shot becuase there is like no recoil. just play gun club vr or other VR Shooters and you will see why the guns dont make any sense but I do see hope in this one!" Now The Graphics are what this game should have. Combat has gotten better with recoil added (recoil feels great). There will need to be more haptics. This game has some great developer support and as long as you the community give your opinion and report bugs then it will be a masterpiece.
Hey man some thoughts on level 4 - guy talking bit every time u die kills the flow of gameplay I wish we could skip him entirely always but if not that at least let me skip him when I die and have to restart.
Putting 2 grenades outside a room full of explosives that will insta fail the level is truly sick... Its pretty funny but maybe not so funny for the player your call tho.
I drop my 2 pistols for 2 smgs... That proceed to break almost immediately and I lose my dual pistols basically insta death if u grab those smgs
Also I don't like how my allies do nothing but block the sides of the doors I want to go and at the ending part the walls are too small to hide behind anything but a small box kinda killing me the room scale fun I was having.
Also I hope for full release we can get a mode where we don't have these insta lose things in the levels it's super annoying to shoot an explosive accidently and have to start over, I also wasn't a fan of avoiding the innocent people in the elevator level (likely a personal preference tho so maybe just a post game no leaderboard custom thing.)
absolutely love the new level tho just adding input on things I felt could be done Better to ensure the best possible game.
es I did like the addition of the riot shield in the second level only change I would make would be talking it away like the assault rifles on the later floors
I also liked the 3rd mission only complaint I have is some times I noticed bullets clipping through cover
Nice
I forgot write you a small impression
The game as a whole is really nice. Smooth, i didnt really see laggs but the npc movemwnt is sometimes a little bit creepy xD (sometimes hands go in the body etc)
But all in all really nice experience
Game is way better than the first level. I really enjoyed the differing win condition (you’re hunting a terrorist, but the have different things you have to do to dispatch them). It became a lot more fun with the 360 degree space. I was pleased that the second boss was more of a “boss fight”.
Before I fought her, I had the thought of more variation between the soldiers that spawn (like taking more hits, shooting automatic or explosive weapons, maybe grenades you can throw back). I’m getting superhot vibes (without the slo mo) and really enjoying it. At first I thought I could just stand there and shoot, but I died repeatedly on the 3rd stage (it’s a good thing imo).
I’m really enjoying the difficulty curve, how elements are being added iteratively (civilians, enemies vaulting over you), and the general feel overall. I actually saw the mission board this time, I was previously thinking it was just 3 levels XD really pleased with the amount of content planned if it continues adding/changing elements and win requirements. Much more fun than I initially thought, and I already thought it was fun
Awesome game mechanics and graphics
I LOVE THIS GAME
I LOVE WHEN THEY DANCE WHEN UR DONE
BOOGIE BOOGIE
reloading is not a hassle and u can focus on gameplay its amazing
i like how the enimies are one tap and the ragdoll animation as well
overall would pay probably 20$ for
Solid fps experience
This is a 180 wave shooter. There is no locomotion. It's pretty difficult after the tutorial level. It's running on the Unity Engine. It ran fine. The graphics & sounds were subpar. The shooting mechanic felt a little dated. There was nothing really interesting here, other than civilians just running in between enemies, making accidental civilians shootings something that is difficult to avoid. It's also an automatic game over. You also have a swarm of enemies shooting at you.
Really the only difficulty is choosing the right weapon. You can dodge bullets in between aims I suppose. Reload is done automatically for you. ADS seems to be on target, but unfortunately, the iron sights just aren't all that great in this game. Plus everything is just a click and hold type of interaction.
In the end, this is a completely bland wave shooter. However, it is free. I guess it's slightly better than the average free wave shooters, which is usually horrible. I had to tap out after less than 20 minutes.
Rate 5.5/10. Worth the download if you like challenges and don't mind dated shooting mechanics & interactions. I probably will never play this game again though.
This game is odd, the experience is acceptable for the game being free but the little things made it rather poor for me. For example on the second level on the second floor if you shoot some of them they just get back up after having half a mag put into them as if there was nothing. The first level where the person to my right would repeatably say Enemies Incoming or Enemies Eliminated, and the commander's voice is very robotic and his hand actions and mouth movements are nothing to even do with what he is saying.
Put is simply, if you want a quick, FPS experience without wanting graphics or good gun mechanics then sure, get the game but if you are after something that is more refined and has an active player base, go with Pavlov or Contractors.
Hi, I've just tested out and played through all 3 levels. I like it better with the recent improvements!
- I really like the addition of the shield, I feel like that helps a lot on the 2nd level, when there are many enemies.
- I also like the flash grenade.
- I liked the third level when using a flashbang, then shooting all the enemies around you, it felt like an action movie. It was also cool when Gorgon jumped over, the first time I shot him (I guess that was the point).
- After having to restart after a failed round, it would be good if it's possible to skip the dialogue/intro sequence and jump right into the action.
- It was weird at the end of level 2 and 3, the weapons just drop out of my hands, but I wasn't sure what was happening. Later I realized I had beat the level. It was a bit confusing. I am still missing some more prominent victory screen (for example showing how many points and bonuses the player got).
- I think there are still some enemies that are not fully falling over after they're dead, mainly noticed on Level 1 in the windows.
Shooting hitboxes
- I am wondering if I get hit if the bullets hits my weapons? I would expect not to receive damage when my weapon is hit, but it's hard to know exactly what's happening since it's so fast.
- I am not able to shoot through flowers on the elevator level, and also a glass window (I think it's the 2nd floor). I would expect to be able to shoot through those things.
Visuals
- I also liked that the shield contains the info about health ++. I think maybe it would look even cooler if the info was shown on some sort of display, which kinda makes more "sense", instead of just looking like it is printed onto the shield surface.
- I also noticed that the health was on the gloves. I think it would look cooler on a smart-watch or some sort of glove display.
Overall, I think it's a great game. However, when compared to two other VR shooting games I've played, Drop Dead: Dual Strike, and Crisis VRigade, for some reason I feel there is something missing, that makes Serpens a little less fun to play. But I am not entirely sure why. I think perhaps it comes down to some tweaking of the shooting mechanics.
Anyway, I think Serpens has a lot of potential :) Hope to see more updates from you guys!
Ok I have completed both levels currently available overall I enjoyed the experience however I did notice a big difficulty spike in the second level due to the lack of cover and overwhelming amount of enemy’s
First impressions. Super fun! I see where you are going with this and your sense of humor is fun - the first time the main guy started posing and voguing I laughed so hard :D It's fast, loud and intense.
1. The loading screen is just long enough it feels like the headset has locked up. It would be nice to see that improved. An update or change to the screen during this process would help. Maybe hints/tips screens?
tacogalacticToday at 8:55 AM
2. Using 2 handed as a lefthanded user results in the outer right virtual hand appearing incorrectly.
3. I'd love more feedback from the weapon both in hand/controller during firing and bullet trails or something to make it more obvious there are bullets flying. I just see them making shooting gestures and see the bullets hit but nothing between.
4. Often after taking out a bad guy I hear the echo of gun shots that sound like a very delayed last shot from the bad guy.
5. My position and direction were odd several times after it warned me to get back in my play space. I found myself facing the wrong way a few times as a result.
6. I was booted to the Oculus menu once and had to reload the game but no other game stopping issues.
7. My fingers hurt now! :D
I've not tried all the levels yet, but I have crazy ideas for levels and the theme/story for each. I'd be happy to share, I just tend to overshare and I don't always take into account all of the work involved in my suggestions. :D
Imagine being in the back of a crashing cargo plane. The front half is gone, your crew is behind you along w some crates and such. And you are being attacked from another plane or maybe a big silly blimp. The bad guys leap off off it and glide towards you in waves.
Any of the bad guys who makes it alive past line of sight below the cargo plane's ramp then climbs the ramp to shoot you like they would up a building.
Maybe it gives you a big crazy weapon like a minigun here to mow them down as they float towards you.
You could have it start in the air then between scenes it "crashes" and you are left defending the husk of the plane on the ground for the final wave of attacks.
Okay, here’s a little feedback:
Love the gameplay and reloads. The round count on the firearms Is very smart. I also like that the accuracy is forgiving. It’s a pretty fun game so far.
I would like to be able to move around, maybe get off the elevator. The flow of opposition becomes redundant after a few minutes. I found myself in the corner of the elevator firing blindly into the room. I’m sure you know that is a big no no in the real world. The graphics are a little chunky, unlike “espire” for example.
There’s no way to rejuvenate after taking damage. That may very well be because it’s a beta and that’s coming.
Hopefully my feedback is helpful and I’m not coming off like a jerk. That’s not my intention.
Thanks for letting me demo.
Overall I really enjoyed
It so far.
Hey guys just played This game and it's a great start a few things as others have mentioned tho
Levels are far too long and you get the feeling it's starting to drag so maybe smaller timed missions which could mean more smaller timed missions
The first level is very long and my arms started to hurt after a while sadly which made me want to out down the game and give my arms a break for a bit
I feel the voice acting is not bad but the way it's been recorded is so maybe a better implementation of voice in the way it's recorded as it sounds a bit tiny and echoey at present
You have done a great job so far so well done but a few small changes would make a lot of difference for old and new users
Thank you
Also I don't know if this is just the power of the quest but usually I swint one eye while aiming with a gun and it all gets very blurry for me maybe I'm wearing my quest wrong possibly
But we'll done on the game I am sure it will get better as time goes on
What I like:
The weapon's model;
The idea of having a target;
The graphics are good;
The reload system is easy for a fast-paced action game like this;
Good variety of weapons;
What could be improved/created:
The weapon's recoil and sound;
The enemy's bullets' could be faster;
a headshot count/display;
Maybe the levels could have a milestone, so it doesn't stay like shooting for a couple of minutes until we reach the final boss. What I mean is, something exciting could happen in the middle of the level that marks some progression;
Limit amount of ammo. If you need more, you could ask for a teammate;
Just finished the first mission. I’m enjoying it so far, there are a few minor things (some wonky animations, no scoring system it seems like so far) but as far as the concept and the actual gameplay it’s pretty solid. I’ll let you know what I think after I play through
Are you developing this yourself? Either way great job so far
a very cool game with prety cool graphiqe and alot of ambition i totally recomend to play i having fun to play it the ONLY problem is is really hard
I had a lot of fun playing this and I don't usually play a lot of arcade shooter games. It can get intense at times, which should keep people playing. I did some gameplay to share the game. I'm looking forward to heading back in and playing more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkZ9jfj8XCk
I really hate arcade shooters, but this is one of the best games i've played on the quest. I really like how the weapons feel and the gameplay is really fun. Only issues ive found is that the rifles/shotgun feel small, also you cant rotate the gun with the dominant hand, but that doesnt effect gameplay. This game is a must-get for quest users (yes I know, everybody says that), but its true! Incredible for a free game, i would give it more stars but it ends at 5.
Ok so i have played the first mission, now its time to put my experience into words. Here it goes!
I felt like the terminator who never dies and can reload a sniper and ak (it felt like an lmg though with 60 bullets) without moving his hands. I get that it was the first level, but i took way too many shots and didn’t even use my left arm for reloading or shooting. The thing i always see when im playing vr shooters is that you have to physically reload the gun, and serpents doesn’t have that which kinda broke the immersion of shooting up bad guys. I was surprised when i saw the bullet counter but i didn’t mind it. The flash grenade slowing down time is a pretty cool thing and i liked it, but just like the guns i would love to use both hands when using the grenade. Sound wise everything was fine, but i would need to play it again before leaving a real review on the sound. Im not going to say anything about the ai because i havent played the later levels yet so im not sure if they get harder or not. Also im not sure i was told where my health bar was, and i couldn’t find it until i was curios about the size of my hands (haha). My personal preference when playing shooters is “holy sh*t im going to die” and i also like to get thrown head first into the action, but like i said i havent played the later levels yet so who knows, i might get that experience.
Ok theres my review, sorry if any grammar is wrong, im not that good at writing things.
But when i play more i will leave another review / add or change things to the existing one.
I did like the game though, and a little thing that would be funny is when you shoot a friendly in the shooting range, they should step back a little or curl up a bit and say "Ooo that tickles" and they chuckle a bit
haha
Well, I find it pretty good. As a wave shooter it is pretty intense at times. I do believe that when it gets out of beta, and the final polish is done, it should be most definatly a part of anyone's library.
A must have!
Great game! A must have for any quest user. Huge thanks to the developers- You can really feal their sense for details (e.g. how cilivians walk trying to cover). Some ideas for the first level (i have only played this level and parts of the second) - more thinks to blow up in the environment e.g. a fireing car coming down the street you have to stop by shooting the tires - save states within the levels
Well, here are my initial reactions...
Voices sound like they are in a can and don’t sound very natural
I don’t like the captions, there should be an option to turn them off
The characters are kind of funny, which I like, but should have some kind of syncing option where they stop appearing to talk after the voice has ended
Should be a health indicator of some kind
I couldn’t figure out how the grenades work
The characters in the lobby should complain if you shoot them
The reload function was unlike any other shooter I have played, not sure I liked it
I will play some more and let you know if I have anything to add
My thought was that it could be a little harder, take more damage. And the stats on the glove maybe should go on the outside/top of the glove not the inside, since you can't see it when holding weapons. Perhaps make them bigger because they blended in so well to the glove I didn't realize what they were. LOL
This game has reached next level for me.
Really fun and polished arcade shooter
Extremly fun game. cant wait for the rest of the levels
pros: - easy to learn - real life dodging - no risk of motion sickness - gun accuracy is true cons: - reloading is a little unsatifying - sound design could be better - no recoil on the rifle overall its a pretty fun pick up and play and has the potential to be really good
A very fun shooter game. Has a good bit of difficulty that makes the game more enjoyable. Each level is unique in that there is different objectives and different places that you are in. There are also many guns that you can use throughought the levels aswell.
the game is great! only big problem I had was the gun was a bit out of your hand
like if you held it was the right hand it was to much to the left
I just put my hand there to signal where my actual hand irl was
Wow the game is amazing
it is one of the best sideloaded games that i have seen on quest
Yeah, i love the difficulty of the levels
most games only get hard around the end
I think it would be really cool if there was one in a helicopter and you were sniping out of it
would get a little motion sick though
This game is a lot of fun! A well done arcade shooter, looking forward to the future updates and full game release! Review and Gameplay - https://youtu.be/jZrmr0oH69M
Very fun casual shooter. Something you'll spend 15-20 mins playing. (At the timeof this review there is only 3 levels so play time will increase.) Pretty polished with a very good base foundation that they can work on.
Just had my 2nd play through (Levels 1-3) and decided to get a bit more in depth on how I feel the game plays and what I think could be improved. Bear in mind, I'm a very active gamer and take the time to get good at things, especially shooters. So experiences for people who aren't as experienced as me could be different.
Overall - The game is a great casual shooter. Something I actually plan on getting friends/family to try out next week when I visit.
Things I liked:
+ The Art direction and the slight humour is great, especially for the Quest.
+ I do like the the skins you have on weapons (Would be a great feature to expand on further down the road)
+ The small hidden things especially in Level 2 are great, finding things behind the boxes and what not.
+ Guns weren't over the top realistic. It's nice to have a more casual experience instead of all the hardcore style shooters.
+ The Flash Bang (Slowmo) is a really fun feature
+ Crouch button...My knee's thank you for that.
+ Quickly being able to fix your view is good (Pressing Y)
Things I feel like should be improved on:
- I would highly appreciate being able to adjust the angle the gun is point (Look at the game Shooting Arena) as I found it looking very high for me. I was pointing down most of the game. It was quite uncomfortable and inaccurate.
- Your Progress meters I think should be on the world, not on your hand. I like the idea of having it on the shield. But just have it on the wall to your left or right, box or window sill. You could have it on your hand still, just it's a bit hard to keep track of if you're using both. Which I think might help with the feeling of the game dragging out a fair bit.
- Maybe make the bullets a little easier to see so you can dodge them a bit easier. In saying that, I did end up getting used to seeing them...I feel like that's something I'd love to help test out for you guys.
- Variety in sounds. I do like the direction the sound design is going. But I think it needs a bit more variation, especially to how guns sound. Just having it play a slightly different sound every X amount of shots will make a difference.
- Pacing. This is my main gripe in the game...Not a horrible make or break thing, just something that really needs to be worked on. What I mean by this is how long each level goes for and how slow the game feels.
(My personal times, I started the timer just before picking up a gun)
Level 1 - 5:03 (Mins)
Level 2 - 5:34 (Mins)
Level 3 - 4:54 (Mins) (I failed a couple times so I reset the timer, this is from picking up the gun to finishing the level)
The first level is my main issue. It is a tutorial mission, but it is the one that people will play first, first impressions are huge in games. I think I noticed that when you get the AK the map is only about 50% done...That's about 2:30 of using just the AK (You don't have too, but that's what I did) against fairly slow waves and with no events happening. Making the level more busy will help a lot with the pacing. My suggestions would be maybe add things that happen in the level, have a helicopter bring in more bad guys or force your character to have to move to another window at some certain points.
I am guessing you want about 5 mins per map. I like that. 5 minutes is a great time frame to be working with per level. Not too short, not too long. But then the issue more lies in what happens IN the map.
Level 2 was good with it's pacing except at the first part of it, I just sat there with my shield spraying...I think maybe add another floor in between the first and second.
Level 3 was great honestly. Because it was busy so the level felt like it didn't take 5 minutes. I'm very happy to see future levels after seeing the 3rd level.
I thought it was fun, but to be honest I felt the levels were really dragged out. The first level I found myself getting bored only because of it seeming to take a long time.
I'm always happy to help out if you need someone to test things.
I like the premise of the game, you have a good range of weapons, the level designs are good and the character designs are also very good, however there are a few areas of improvement. I think that you should be able to reload the guns manually and should have a more realistic recoil because at the moment there is hardly any recoil, i also think that you should be able to put two hands on a single pistol/revolver. Whilst the sounds aren't bad they could certainly be improved because they don't sound accurate to their real life counterparts. Overall i would rate the game a 3.5 / 5. The game definitely has potential as you keep developing it but i don't think it is ready for full release just yet. Of course everything i suggested is invalid if you are going to keep the game "simple", maybe you could add another mode called "Realistic" and include some of the things that i have suggested.
Sorry I've been a little busy. I just played it. Before I say anything I want to preface that I'm not a huge fan of wave shooters, but I'll try to give my unbiased thoughts. It seems like a good game, it feels fun to shoot the people especially with dual pistols. I really do think it's a pretty good game but I'll just go over some stuff that I think would make it better. First of all, I'm left handed so one of the first things I noticed was that when grabbing the foregrip with my right hand, it was oddly positioned. I also think that the guns need to be touched up on a little. Pistols work great, they feel the best and I don't think anything needs to change with them. I think the rifles are really the weak point, the shots fire so fast and with so little recoil that I feel like I'm shooting more of a laser beam than actual bullets. I also think a 60 round capacity seems a little high (except for on the drum mag). Right now the shotguns seem go fire slugs, I think if they fired shells that spread it would make them much better. An option to manually reload the guns would also be super cool, even if it was just take the mag out and put the same mag back in. Also maybe add holding pistols with two hands, it just feels a little weird having one hand just hover by the pistol while the other is grabbing it. I noticed that there is a menu but with no options, I assume this will change. One option I want is smooth turning without the black borders as well as snap turning. One more little gripe is that the hands feel a little small, especially when you compare them to the npc size. I really do think it's a good game and it has some super good concepts and gameplay, I just mostly wanted to focus on things that could be improved. I hope this helps!
Sure, why not - got nothing better to do when insomnia kicks in.
I tried it out and these are my thoughts about it:
I really like the cartoon-ish artstyle you're going for!
It becomes very repetitive really fast, the "waves" goes on for too long without throwing anything new at you. Maybe make it more inline of something like good ol' light-gun games of the late 90s early 00s? Where you're constantly moving further into the level. I suggest you take a look at the Dreamcast and its library of light-gun games for inspiration. Or look at Crisis Vrigade for a good Quest example, the segments never drag out more than they have to. Nothing wrong with having a massive shootout thrown into the mix every now and then but basing the whole game around it - I fear it'll become boring really fast.
Smaller tidbits/glitches I noticed:
The guns feel odd to hold (two handed guns), it doesn't align properly with how the controller is held by me - which makes it a bit awkward to play.
The shield doesn't protect you, bullets goes straight through it :)
I'd like to see an option for making the grab button toggle, it becomes very tiresome to constantly hold it in order to hold a gun (yeah I get it, it becomes more realistic, but at the same time I don't think that's what you're going for).
Anyway, I think you have a solid base at the moment and I'm curious to see how the final product will end up.
Ok just finish it first off it was super fun to play nothing happened that got me frustrated at all this is what I feel should be worked on
1. The guns in my right hand feel like they are floating a bit to the left
2. The left guns felt like they were floating back and to the right
3. As I’m someone who has shot shotguns for a while if felt odd shooting them like a slug and not having some spread to them and they felt like they reloaded super slow compared to the other guns
4. I saw this somewhere else but I’m getting shot through the shield and walls on the elevator map
5. on the 3rd map I saw some guys shooting before they got their guns actually pointed up
6 it was hard to see down the sights on the pistols maybe put the dots on the sights so it’s easier to like them up
That is all I have for now I hope some of this information can help but I did genuinely like playing your game
I just finished the first 2 levels
Overall its a pretty good game
But
A few things imo should be added/changed
There should be a difficulty level
And maybe laser sights on pistols
And 2 handed weapons should have recoil even if held with 2 hands
Beat level 1. The second level was a lot of fun and the shield in there was a nice bonus. I am looking forward to level 3.
Ok, just spend 2 rounds. Some quick feedback
Can you lower the rate of the guy saying 'need some help here' and 'we're under attack'. It's constantly saying it for me.
Aiming is kind of hard. Perhaps because I'm not using something to hold my controllers apart with a stick or something, but hip shooting and following the bullets is easier some times.
Starting with a sniper is kind of annoying with a reload on every shot. Got a lot of hits there just getting the aim right.
Would like to see something of a health meter, a way to replanish health or something. Don't make it past the first level yet.
The text during story telling could be a little higher, I'm trying to look down on it tbh.
But.. for what I have played, it's a fun little arcade shooter. Brings me back to the old game halls where you would pick up a gun and shoot at the screen.
Hello,
I delayed going to bed yesterday and tried the game for a bit.
Here’s a quick first approach summary.
Positives:
- Look and feel
- Guns are very nice
- I like the recoil and smoke
Stuff to work on:
- Voice over during the game is very repetitive
- Gun accuracy could be improved
- You can’t see your progress unless you lift the shield up, this should be on the screen somewhere at all times.
- More GRENADES!!!
Levels:
- Level 1 is very very long
- Level 2 is tough but manageable, first floor is quite long. Seem to be hit even by enemies not directly in my line of sight.
- Level 3 takes forever to get going - havent yet completed it.
First impression playing the game: There's definitely potential. The biggest thing that comes to mind right now is:
Sound design. I think that's what's holding it back. The gun sounds aren't very powerful, and so it feels sort of like you're spraying water or nerf darts. They're too tame and quiet, which if anything contrasts too heavily against its effects on most enemies. Contrast on CSGO's gun sounds, both old and new: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWkusVCX2fg
Note: I am a more intense-type of gamer. I've played Pavlov, CSGO, Titanfall 2, and other such games. So if this isn't the right design direction, then fair enough.

Counter-Strike Global Offensive Gun Sounds OLD vs NEW
Similarly, I suspect that if there were blood effects on hitting enemies, the feedback on hit would be better - or just, some way to indicate the enemy got hit, though this isn't strictly necessary since the enemy's falling animation is pretty good. However, there's also a vague sense of floppiness/slowness to it all - like, if the same game were sped up 2x, it'd be intense. Perhaps an alternate mode?
Another thought: Enemy bullets - they're meant to be dodgable, I can see, but they're also damn tiny, and the quantity of enemies firing whenever they want to fire means that there's no particular 'rhythm' to the dodging and shooting, making dodging confusing at best. The best contrast here is Space Pirate Trainer, where if enemies come in large groups, they have a tendency to 'fire on a rhythm' and in sync; and also the things meant to be dodged tend to be big.(edited)
Third: I presume this is meant to be moreso a horde-shooter type game? Enemy design was more diverse than I gave it credit for at first impression, but it's not always obvious distinguishing between enemies, or any sense that some enemies should be prioritized.
As for overall gameplay, I'm slightly concerned about the horde shooter gameplay, if only because it's hard to go wrong with horde shooters... but it's also hard to get it right. Currently, it feels like too many enemies are crammed at the player at once, but at the same time each enemy doesn't really 'command as much respect' - they're easy to hit, particularly with trivial to use spammy assault rifles which can just vaguely fill an entire area with bullets, and the probability of any one enemy hitting you is low.
Complex Doom Invasion had the best horde shooter gameplay, but it's also not replicable in VR because it was built off the interaction between player movement, terrain, very dodgable enemy attacks, and diverse enemy types. The first cannot be done here; the second I'd recommend doing but it depends on the specifics of your creative vision, the third is subject to horde shooter problems of rhythm and visibility (CDI simply avoided this by having players be really, really stupidly fast), and the last is difficult to do without player movement
Not impossible though - one fun schema is the 'very hard to use, very powerful to use' gun meant to take out enemies which have a crapton of HP and demand respect; and the 'mow down everything in your path but weak damage' gun which mulches on goons all day long, but barely tickles the minibosses.
Overall summary:
1. 'Feedback' for the player - sound design, gun kick (harmless stuff, like vague screen shake or gun movement between shots), etc
2. Gameplay speed/animation speeds?
3. Making the horde shooter style work, or reconsider horde shooter style.
Message @Dolmhold
sorry was quite busy the past few days, i wanted to get back to you anyway :) i havent tested the recent update, but i did complete the elevator lvl.
i quite liked it overall :) also the idea of fighting a boss itself. a few things for improvement i thought would be
1. have the double handed guns have a heavier recoil when used with 1 hand
2. if i saw correctly, when the boss was shot, she left the screen and additional shots didnt do dmg to her (at least thats how it felt like to me), so maybe have the boss duck or sth as an animation to indicate that she /he takes no dmg during walking out of screen or have some soundeffect for that.
3. i thought the handgun was quite tricky to be accurate with, though i'm not sure if that was because its my first time using vr in generell, vr guns even more so. so i'm not sure if that was just on me sucking :D
some additions i would love would be (if not on the list already)
1. some kind of progression system like a gun shop to take on the lvls again with a different arsenal
2. some kind of verbal feedback maybe if you shoot one of your conpanions, or maybe even have them all quickly turn and shoot at you as sort of a suprise-additional "lvl" with higher / impossible difficulty as they are surrounding you and your not really supposed to shoot at you teammates.
3. the option to upgrade you weapons (cf. progression lvl) maybe with scopes, magazines and even bullet types, like explosives or a little bit spread or maybe even for high tiers non-serious stuff to play arround with like bubble bullets which decrease dmg and / or velocity, gravitational bullets to make dead enemies float up into the sky, balloon bullets etc. just some funny stuff to think to oneself "ah that sounds fun, maybe i'll farm more gold (or whatever) to try that. to increase replayability etc. :)
if i can think of sth else i'll let you know, sry for not having tested the latest version yet though
Great game. I would love to see gore and a mission where you raid the Chinese lab that started this corona virus crap.
Fun and good way to blow off some steam. I vote for gore and add some Chinese bastards in the game too.
I have been given access to a new game called Operation Serpens. Its a brand new wave shooter currently available for Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest. The game is simple, to take down each wave of enemies with the final goal of taking down the levels villain. Some chick who looks like Sinead O'connor is the second boss and it take place in an EPIC elevator battle. There are a variety of military style weapons and many different ways to utilise them. You also have BULLET TIME when you release a flashabang on an enemy.
This game is still in the early stages but it is still really fun and has more levels than the ones I show here with the developers working on the game heavily. If you want to see more then let me know in the comments section. In the meantime here is a link to the game on STEAM which is due for release into early access on the 16/07/2020.
suicide is an option 10/10
Cant wait for Level Four. All in all a fantastisc game
Great, great, great and again great. One of the best shooting game I played. 4,5 stars because elevator 2nd floor is a little bit too much difficult due to the weapons available. Gaming in important, but we need to have the possibility - even if difficult - to win.
2 more things to add- scope of sniper could improve (i think they did the best one so far in phantom covert ops) and the shotgun feels if it does not spread its shots, although i could be wrong. oh and pumping the shotgun rather than hitting a would give a good fell too i guess although i understand that you want to keep the possibillity to dual whield them
Hi there, I actually ended up finding the game on sideQuest and loaded it up on my quest. I really enjoy it so far but found it slightly frustrating in the first level when bullets would penetrate through walls even when I was ducking behind cover
Wow just played the latest version and have to say- i am really impressed in how fast you‘ve implemented my (and probably others) feedback and how well it plays already!!!
Good job mate, and thanks for letting us watch the chicks a little bit closer 😀
Dodging feels WAY better than before already (as it simply makes sens now) although i still think a few tweaks could even improve it.
Regarding the dodging:
-i think it would be good if the shots would be a little bit bigger, sometimes i saw them just at the very end.
-I personally would rather prefer a smaller hitbox but more enemy bullets but i guess thats more like a matter of taste
- it would also help to have some kind of indikation on where bullets come from if they are out of someones FOV (like eg in pistol whip) although it could get a bit messy the more bullets you have
It could be harder overall although i died in the 360 level
I really did enjoy the ladies bossfight as it felt pretty fleshed out already. Could also be harder though and adding „specific areas“ on a boss you have to shoot first or patterns of him beeing unbreakable changing to „now you can shoot him/her“ could add some extra spice
I guess its only you who is developing this game? Did you create the charaktermodels by yourself too?
AAAAND of course- adding coop multiplayer like in crisis would be freaking freaking awesome
Regarding the hitbox- if you dont want to limit it to the head only i would not go further than to your breast (like its done in space pirate trainer)
I like this games. The retro style of the graphics fit very well. It would be better in the earlier levels if the difficulty ramp up was smoother and more gradual. The aiming reticles on some guns are difficult to see in some areas. Consider highlighting them more.
In the second elevator stage, I had a lot of instances where there is no enemy but bullets are flying in from empty locations. Perhaps the graphics code or character models is lagging behind the physics or action code.
One big problem I experienced was when someone turned off the lights in the room and tracking was lost. When the lights came back on, the hands were above my head but still tracking movement. I could not get the position back to the correct location. Had to quit the game and restart. Perhaps you can add a way for the player to reset the position of the tracking.
Can you add a way for the player to control left and right movement while playing stationary or seated?
Fun game and I am looking forward to the new levels.
I like the second level. A few things I have as feedback. The elevator is too small and needs a place to hide. Not sure if you are working on a third level but maybe user is inside some office with bad guys shooting at you
Played the first level and tried the second. Died on the second floor.
Also this is my first VR shooter ever.
The game play is really fun, weapon selection is great!
It has a good steady buildup of amount of enemies. No lag of any kind and runs smooth as can be.
Also the new logo is awesome.
i love the arcade style, reminds me of the games in the arcade of holding the guns when you had to point away to reload. Cannot wait to play more!
Update: awesome fix on elevator level its great now, level 3 is awesome too. only concern is that when im in the elevator there are certain areas I dont understand how im being shot, like are bullets bouncing off wall behind me and hitting me? also I wish you could skip the long talking bits especially at the start of the first level. but the 3rd level really dont need to see them slowly jump in more then once and given this will be highly re-playable I assume I just would love to skip those parts on repeat play throughs. But yeah this is amazing, thanks for letting us test this at no cost
Hi sorry for the delay, been mad busy this week. I have had a chance to play level 2 and I must say this game is getting better and better.
I like the fact that ‘Lady Python’ is an end of level boss and that you choose your level by shooting the pictures.
I like that your machine gun breaks after the first floor (nice touch) and that you have added civilians as an obstacle.
Also now you take hits and can die really makes this game and the fact that the baddies dance when you do die again is a nice touch.
Will there be objects to shoot, I.e a grenade is thrown at you and you have to shoot it mid flight ? Or explosive canisters that wipe out a group of bad guys ? I know that has been done in other games but would add a bit of variety I think. Also will you be able to select levels at the beginning if you’ve completed them ? So you can jump straight in to where you left off ?
Anyway thanks for letting me test this out I see you’re already working on lvl3 and I’m really looking forward to playing that.
Hi, I have tried just a little the 2nd level, here's a bit of feedback:
- After playing level 1 to level 2, it does seem a little bit repetitive. There are many enemies spawning, and it got a bit boring. This feels more so when playing two levels in a row.
- Level 2 has a very interesting concept (elevator), I think it can be a very fun level! (However, as I said, it turned out a bit repetitive).
- I feel like sometimes the crouching didn't work as well as I expect to avoid getting shot. (On lvl 2)
- I compare this game a bit with Crisis VRigade, which is also very hard to finish, but that game doesn't feel as repetitive in that we change environment a bit more often as we progress in the game. (Crisis VR does get repetitive in that it's very hard to complete the full level, so one has to restart a lot, but that is different).
Hope this helps! As I mentioned before, I like the concept, the art, and the basic game play - Continue tweaking and working on this, and I think it will be a great game (Y)
Ya it was fun and I enjoyed messing around in it
Yes I would kinda like it better if it had a more realistic reloading system and maybe double handed grip for the pistols but I like it a lot
Its not bad... its not great either. graphics are good for what your going for but the combat... oh my... Guns need to have way more recoil when shot becuase there is like no recoil. just play gun club vr or other VR Shooters and you will see why the guns dont make any sense but I do see hope in this one!
This was so much fun! Silly, cartoonish, and totally badass. Very good mechanics, fair and precise difficulty curve. Can't wait for the next levels to be added, and this totally deserves to be a paid game.
Played the intro.
Played Lady Python.
Nice wave shooter. Very nice graphics. Gun mechanics work well, but like everyone says, physical reloading would be far preferable. You wind up "shoot, shoot, (reload), shoot, shoot". Makes things a bit too simplistic.
In other games, there's a big tradeoff with gun selection... more powerful guns are harder/more-complex to reload. Fast reloading guns are less powerful or accurate. Makes gun selection and reload mechanics a big deal. Could be an interesting thing here.
Would love to be able to skip the "explanation" scenes. (just let me hit the A button anytime). They're ok the first time around, but after that they get old fast.
Grenades would be hilarious.
Maybe a knife for when the baddie gets super close.
Great game though.
This will definitely be one of my "intro friends to VR" games.
Hey I played through level 1 today and some of level 2
Quick thoughts are, I like it, it's very well done! 😀
Good hit detection, nice animation, mechanically it felt good to play. I'd like more variety of enemies and to face fewer of them but make them harder to defeat? Just a thought, but it could defeat your intended play style
I'd like to give more points once I play it a 2nd time
You should be proud it's very good if you've just created this as an independent dev
I don't know much about game development but I think it's good
hey so after playing it alittle, its really good. maybe a little hard on the very first stage, but its a good game. also sometimes the sub captions gets in the way and i cant see. but other than that its really fun
Pretty polished graphics, I like the bullet smoke effects. It's nice to play titles that are more polished from sidequest but I feel like this game needs more to make it stand out from Crisis Vrigade. Here are some criticisms:
I wish there was more reward for killing so many baddies all at once, sometime it just felt like a grueling onslaught more than me making progress. Maybe add some power-ups like slow-time (make doging easier), laser sights, or some kind of shield.
It'd be easier to dodge the bullets if they were more noticeable (this is more due the the quest's resolution because the bullets are so small). I think since dodging is part of the gameplay there should be more focus on being able to avoid bullets.
This might be personal but the amount of time needed to kill all the baddies made my arms tired, especially with the assault rifles. Maybe add some more intervals between waves, this is a nit-picky suggestion though.
Keep up the good work, I always loved arcade shooters growing up and this gives something similar.
Hi just played the game
really enjoyed the mechanics and the graphics
if i had to provide vonstructive criticism i think that your life should have a way to be filled like maybe killing particular enemies that have life on them and i found some bad guys hard to see to the left and right of the door shooting at me also i wish i could grab some of the guns the users have when i kill them but fun game
So I finally had a chance to play the new version I love what you did with the first level makes it so much more fun and I already liked it a lot adding ability to turn around was great as far as the second level way too many enemies and too long for each floor as I was shooting it seemed to go on forever like it was in a loop and literally made my hand start to hurt took the fun out of it as I was like how long is this going to go on for mind you I wasn't dying I was shooting the guys and doing well but then literally started to get annoyed that it kept going on for so long also it's really cool people are trying to sneak by on the second floor but the way they come in they walk right in front of your bullets I don't know how you would avoid them there should be some type of warning one even stood there as I waited for him to continue to sneak by I hope you know this is all constructive criticism I'm not trying to be rude you wanted feedback I'm giving you honest feedback and so far it seems to be working well 👍
Awesome implementation of my recommendations. ❤️
All levels:
Return to menu options needs to be implemented, by using the menu button on the left controller.
Add skip talking option by pressing A, rather then wait for the audio and animation to finish between each speech.
Add tracer fire 3D audio if possible for the bullets that near misses you.
For bullets hitting player, at a grunt sound ‘ah’ or something along those lines.
Have a difficulty option, buy reducing the number of enemies or shooting health boxes for recovery.
Recruit:
Reduced enemies
Add limited health boxes
Soldier
Add limited health boxes
Special forces:
As is.
Commando:
Each hit taken reduces 10% health
For bullets hitting players head, change colour to red and slowdown that bullet speed so player can dodge, if the player doesn’t dodge 20% health reduced.
Level 2:
Nowhere to hide for cover, place buttons on the side of lift, when player shoots that button doors close halfway for 1 seconds then reopens.
Level one rocks... That guy popping up in front of the balcony!!!... Love the feel of the guns...
Ducking down and up is nice... Maybe have people shoot from passing vehicles... Maybe have hostages appear at windows and lose points if you hit them... Overall mechanics seem great... Could add different scenes like with police VRigade... Could I make a little video of gameplay to promote it? (I do this with games that I like)
Potential for a great game... We need to get it to the next level... Will send you a link to anything I create... Only positive vibes... You got some talent there 🙂
I passed... Will try level 2 tomorrow... Wanted my kids to try level one as well... 🙂... It's my son in the picture
Ooohhh... Looks like good just became great 🙂... Can't wait
Just finished the game, had a blast. And I wrote my review. It was definitely harder then I thought it be, great job
So first off I had a blast. The game runs really smooth and the guns work well, I had no problems. I wasn't really a fan of the character models at fist but that could just be because I usually go for a realistic look. They had some funny animations. I love that it's can get intense and you can dodge bullets well in a epic gun fight. Level design and the well it fills reminds me of the old arcade games but in VR. I see this becoming a really great game can't wait to see all that comes of it. 5 stars. I wouldn't mind a zombie mode in the future maybe, it's fine if not though.
i really enjoyed this game it wolud be awsome if it had pvp and coop keep up the good work
it's awesome! just got it working. now my 12 year old is playing
"it's so detailed!" is what he just said.
i'll keep the comments coming.
what did you make it in? and why not on the oculus store?
Ahh. My son is loving it
Nice work
Very cool
That’s me 🙂
I was up in the elevator and then shot the girl civilian walking by. Which level is that?
After killing everyone while hiding behind the cart in the elevator
Only suggestions from my son so far:
- med pac or regenerate some health when crouching down for a while
He said ‘it’s really fun’
Good shooting game and enjoyable... I had some issues with the "crouch" & positioning. If that can be improved. Otherwise a great enjoyable game....also not sure if there is anyway to hold on to the weapon without constantly pressing the grip button.
Played through level 2 now. It was a challenge! The scope of the sniper in level 1 is awesome. Nice addition.
I noticed that if I am hiding, and if the enemy hits my gun, my health goes down.
Is this a bug? Or is the gun designed as an extension of the body that we need to protect from enemy bullets?
No, hits on the weapon is good; it increases the challenge. I just wanted to know if it was designed that way.
Suggestion: what do you think about adding a few perks (example: killing 10-15 enemies without getting hit will grant you x-ray vision goggles for a few seconds).
That was my next suggestion, the grenades.
Looks like you have a great vision for the game!
Let me check the video
Wow that 360 level looks so cool.
My son completed the second level! He did it in 3 times. He thought it was a bit difficult the first time, but he made it the third time so it was not to hard! He really liked it. I’ll follow you on Facebook!
Hello Itzkik! I just finished playing your game. The only thing I noticed is that the Player is still able to shoot thru the wall. You may need to set up a collider to avoid the Player from cheating and just shoot thru that way. The one bulllet reload on the sniper rifle is challenging for sure! May be add in a few more civilians in the 1st floor off 2nd level to make it extra challenging. I think they only came out during the beginning of the level. You had more civilians come in and out from the 2nd floor. Overall, great wave shooter. Have you set a price range yet?
I thought the game was pretty good. I would have liked more cover in the elevator but I could have probably moved around more. Mechanics seemed good. Nothing bugged out while I was playing. Ill give it another play to dive deep into it. Solid game though. Good job
finally got this to share! operation serpens is a cool game and looks like it'll definitely be one to check out when finished! i've given feedback to the developer and he actually added my suggestions! check this one out and make sure to give feedback! it will be considered.

Hi Itzik,
Sorry for the delay coming back to you. Firstly I’d like to say the first level is now really good, love the tweaks. It also seemed a little harder which isn’t a bad thing. Love the details.
Level two,
The first lift stop is good although very manic, it would have been good to have office staff walk past on this stop to keep me thinking instead of just letting loose with the machine guns but still really fun.
Second lift stop is perfect, a good mix of enemies and civilians and caught me out shooting a good guy.
Third and final stop, love the girls on entrance to put you off. Again very good level and an appearance from the boss, only comments on this would be.... possible energy bar to show her damage, maybe she reacted more when shot, I know she yelped a little bit more effect would be good. Also maybe something to duck behind to defend like in level one?
Otherwise this is turning into a fantastic game, and I built up a sweat playing and ducking at the window.
Hope this helps
Level three looks good! I love the reloading it’s much better then having to physically insert a mag like other games. It’s a proper arcade style game
Oh, yeah, I finished it last night.
It was pretty hard! But fun
Overall, I like it. As I said the control button should be remap. And the sounds on the first level should be repeated less. These are pretty much it.
Thank you for making the game!
I like : arcade game for everyone , you don't need to have experience to play it ,
The only thing that a dislike but it's because I play a lot of VR it's the reloading of the guns but if it's more realistic the game is not going to be arcade
Maybe you can had healthpack hidden in the game ( behind something or in something) or drop by enemy.
That's my feedback after only 30min of gaming
Thank you and you are doing very great ! ( Sorry for my bad English )
Wooooooow
So great effort
Thank you for develop this awesome game
I have only two demands as a gamer please
1- I need to be able to walk through the environment specially on level 2
It doesn't make any sense to stay the whole time inside the elevator without protection
2- you please add a way to enable me check if I am close to die (life bar%) like a watch on the hand or anyway else and maybe away to fill it back by eating or drinking something
But still amazing work and great graphics and great mechanics also
It reminds me of crisis vrigade
Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to try it
I will write a very good review on sidequest tomorrow
Because you deserve that 💯❤️
Finally beat level 1 🙂 Shooting the boss is kind of funny, as he just walks out like a zombie. Love the machine guns. Level 2 was insane... I wound up dual yielding the 2 machine guns and holding down the trigger while repeatedly hitting the reload button, and it pretty much kept going with only a few studders.
I think I noticed one or two pullets in Level 1 coming through the wall. Would like some more feedback when I get hit an dhow much life I have left.
Hello, i played your game a bit yesterday so here is my comments so far. I like it but it´s hard! I didn´t like the start with the sniper since i don´t like weapons you have to use your both hand with, always hard to get a good feeling but when you later use the automatic rifle it feels much better, The graphics could of course be better but when the game is fun that really dont matter. Maybe i´m doing it wrong or maybe i´m just bad at it but when i start using the automatic rifle i have maybe 30-40% life left and dies after a while, no clue how long this stage is but i will play it soon again. It would be nice to either be able to get more life or at least knowing how much of the stage that is left, right know i have no clue how close i am of getting to next stage
I finally came to level two...great fun but only made the first floor and had just over 20% life left...a bit of sound lagging on this level...but i only tried it once...will play some more soon...
Sorry I didn't get a chance to try it out yesterday. Very cool. Fun graphics, and decent gameplay. A few nits... 1. To start out you have to go through the captains commentary each time. Would be nice to be able to skip past it and get into the action. I also noticed while "crouched" I was getting hit with bullets. That shouldn't be (Maybe have your crew shot and after the last one, have a grenade or something lobbed in to kill you for avoiding the entire combat sequence. I also had some issues with the crouching. (I thought I hit a bug where it recentered me below the window. Then I read the poster on the wall with the controls.)
In regards to being shot while ducking, I got all the guys on the roof, and was only being fired at from the ground, but was still getting hit when crouched.
Other than that, It's a neat little fast-action shooter!
Hi Itzik, what a great little game. It’s good fun, And addictive. I would change some of the gun sounds, as they don’t quite fit with the weapon.. I can send you over some I have ( I have thousands !! ) I will match the guns to a sound effect.. but otherwise I love it. Hope you and the family are staying well in these weird times .
Hello, here to give some first thought. I played the first level, it is very hard for me though, haha. Probably because my skill is bad. But I think the sound is a bit annoying “need help over here” and some others. They were repeated too many time in my opinion. And the crouching and the reset view buttons are confusing. I don’t think the reset view button should be there, it should be bind to the thumb stick button or in the menu somewhere. And thumb stick rotation would be a great option to have as well.
Overall, great first impression. And I think there’s a lot of potential for this game! I enjoy it!
Thanks for making it
will spend more time on the game and give you some more feedbacks.
Hiya buddy, iv only been able to play the first so far, it's a great game from what I have seen. Looking forward to trying the 2nd level
Hi! I had a great time playing your game and think it's off to a great start. Thanks so much for the opportunity. I'm a design director (for live work) and am sort of a sucker for notes and feedback, so I hope you don't mind that I wrote a bunch of things down.
I don't know much about the technical aspects of creating a vr game, so most of my notes will be story and character based.
Technically, the sizes of characters and their designs is really interesting. I really enjoyed the cartoon-y style. Especially of the guys hanging out in the first room. I loved the guys laughing on the couch in the corner! I think you really have an opportunity to show some sort of items you maybe wouldn't expect to see in that room. This is obviously a space this platoon has taken over, so maybe there are some remnants of the past tenants hanging around?
I would also love it if your first shot broke through the glass of the window so you could shoot more clearly. A small detail but would help create a sense of space.
I also wondered why the other characters had much bigger hands than I did. Maybe it would be fun to create those huge cartoon hands for our character as well.
Speaking of our character, who am I? Am I a new recruit? If so, where did I come from? What is my character's name? I would love to learn all that in the tutorial. I feel like details like that could help set this apart from Crisis Vrgade and Triton and bring us more into the Facebook curation discussion.
I am sure you are aware, but I wanted to bring up the often discussed (to a fault) ludonarrative dissonance. The action of shooting in Serpens is really great. The guns have weight and the aim is pretty awesome, my issue is, why am I shooting? Who is Al Cobra? Why does he have 100 men standing around in windows? His soldiers look like my soldiers but then we see him and he's sort of like this thin little crackhead kind of guy. Has he been ruining the neighborhood? If so, can we see how the neighborhood has deteriorated with him in it? Maybe it's a dossier we receive on the guy or our Captain that trains us can give us a brief run down of who all these bad guys are and what they have done. I just played a few levels of Covert Ops on Quest and one way it really succeeds is in it's word salad of why we are at this Russian Base in a kayak. It's sort of stupid, but the buy in is 100% because I know exactly what Russians have done and why we need to get back in there and paddle to a radio tower and shoot it!
Same thing with the elevator level. I really like the way you can dodge behind doors and have access to all those guns, but why are there civilians there while the guys in full body armor are shooting at me? I'm sure a reason can be made, I just don't know yet.
The last point I wanted to make was about the voice actors. You have an opportunity to introduce us to some really gripping characters just through their voices, so don't skimp with that. Get 1 or 2 trained actors to try out those characters and a real slick recording studio and it'll make a big difference.
I am happy to talk more about this if you'd like. I know these might seem a bit ramble-y but I can definitely go into more detail if you want or need.
Thanks for the opportunity and I'd love to speak more about it in the future!
Keep going!
Anderson
Ok played your game today for alittle bit. I enjoyed it. Pretty cool..i got to the ak47 gun I think it is...pretty cool concept there's alot of bad guys which makes it challenging. I like how you can croutch down and reload.
The girl walking around the block is a really nice touch...watched her walk by for a minute 😂😂😂
I plan on playing it some more later to see if I can get further...i had it to where I shot a guy climbing up the building.
great concept, very fun wave shooter
some things I think you can tweak involve audio -- like the popping noises of the smg is too repetitive and sounds like a snare, I think it was also set disproportionately a bit loud
and the more that can be added to set a new rhythm to the game, the better. Maybe stuff like new cues to take in -- stuff like hollering hostages, bad guys commenting about how they're running out of reinforcements
Also thought there was a great job done on the weapons - sniper scope especially stood out
Think that's the gist of what I thought, hope that's helpful
Just played it mate. Really challenging. Graphics are great and the movement of the weapons is great.
So I played the lift level, it was definitely a lot harder then the 1st level il say, didnt find any flaws in the level and like how you've added the ability to grip the fore weapons nicely done on that, I did lose the first time playing but think that was before I noticed the 2nd assult rifle to the left of the lift doors, grabbed that and went full god mode, very well done on the level Itzik, can't wait for more 👍👍 p.s loved the brunette on last lift part in the crop top my man you are treating us lol
Dont know what happened then on that reply lol was meant to write I seen your latest video on facebook and looks good, also looks more harder then the elevator lvl, I like how it's a full 360 level too, I'm guessing that's the 3red level, also I see you have an arcade machine in the main lobby area, are you planning on incorporating that into the game like for players to possibly teleport over to it and play a basic game on it, ?
I jus played it and loved it. My only thing is in the elevator there’s ain’t that many places to hide. And the health we need some health replacement. Like if you shoot enough people some health pop out you can shoot and get. I’m about to jump back in I’ll let you know
The enemies spawn with better pacing, it's a bit harder but more challenging so that's fine. Gun sounds like the ak are improved alot. 2 handing weapons works well. The machine gun you get in the elevator is a little loud, don't know if that's by design because you are in an elevator or not. Sniping is fine only you should be able to empty the mag with reloading manually after each shot without putting in a new mag every time.
Wow it’s looking really good now and graphic as well but yu can fix the way yu holding guns and maybe local motion.,, very nice job. I love it
Really like your game so far... or at least it got a lot of potential. I just hope you will improve the gameplay. Adding mire challange like a real reasin to dodge :))
the way you can use room scale in that elevator is amazing hiding behind stuff, that first wave in the elevator seemed to last too long though as i eventually got bored and tired before completing it but maybe it was a bug. Fantastic game though keep up the great work.
Ok, sorry for the delay.
Pro/good ideas :
- elevator level
- our target is the Boss
- Still nice environments and characters
- Avoiding normal people
Con/ Bad Ideas:
- Too much ennemies. It's an unfunny mass murder after 20 deaths.
- No clear spot to hide
- Difficulty increasing weirdly by destroying rifles
- normal peoples are dumb. And nothing seems to happen when we kill them.
Advice: spawn less ennemies, but make them more difficult to kill. They can hide behind something and visible when they fire on the player. Player can still shoot their heads or harms when they hide, it's a good challenge for the player.
- Make the same for us, we can hide and take risk to fire ennemies.
Risk / Reward balance is important to change in your game design IMO.
Have a nice day. Keep going!
Hello, I got to try operation serpens. Graphics were excellent with high frame rate. Sound effects were decent but gunshots were strange. Especially the shotguns sounded underpowered.
Gameplay was good for a wave shooter, but still it was a wave shooter. I would not pay for that kind of gameplay. I played both levels. Second one was slightly better although on the first floor there were too many enemies.
You have got a solid foundation but you have to fit a decent game in there.
love this game fun arcade shooting cant wait for level 3
For me graphic is drawn with nice style but gameplay is dull. Just my opinion.
i REALLY ENJOYED THIS GAME. I LIKE HAVING THE CROUCH BUTTON. I ALSO LIKED HOW EASY IT IS TO RELOAD YOUR GUN. I FOUND THE ENVIROMENT POLISHED.I DID NOT SEE THE LIFE BAR AT FIRST BUT WAS HAPPY WHEN I DID. THIS IS MY FAVORITE WAVE SHOOTER SO FAR.
Hey I finaly got a chance to test your game and play all the current levels. First thoughts are I loved it and cant wait to see more levels guns and maybe even some more sniping. To be a good review tho I do have to tell some of the flaws; sometimes I would get shot through walls unexpectedly. (This one could be intentional) the guns blew up after I finished the 1st and 2and floor of the elevator levels. There not alor of variety of where guys come out or how they attack (this one isnt that big I deffinitialy think what you have is a great game and I dont really think that this would make a huge difference but it would be cool to see maybe in upcoming levels. As for the gun mechanics you did an awsome job it really made me feel like a real soldier firing and being able to reload with a button (which I think is a really great way too do it especialy for a game like this)
Some suggestions might be; letting players pump the pump shotgun (just cause that always makes you feel awsome), more sniper levels, get rid of the crouch button, grenades would be a cool addition to the game.
And that's all thanks for letting me try it out it was a spectacular game and I cant wait to play the update
Alright. I tried the game, (finally, sorry for the wait. It's been hectic recently.) I couldn't even pass the first level. The guns feel awkward with how their positioned relative to my controller. Also, having to go through the beginning dialogue every time you die can get somewhat annoying when you've heard it three times before. Your game has potential though despite it's flaws.
thats so dope!
i still havent beaten the 2nd one yet hahaha. i also really like that u aDDED the 2 handed weapons. maybe give the shotgun a bit more ammo? great job tho
looks nice, more difficult of 1st level, nice the elevator idea. I just noted a small audio bug, in order to replicate it try to:
- 2nd leve
- use both machine guns (left and right hand)
- shot and recharge in the same moment with both hands.
audio isn't syncro, looks like have an issue playing the same sound 2 time in the same moment.
Hi, I have been playing this game for the past couple days and I think this game is amazing, this is incredibly fun. I have, however, notices a couple of flaws. I have noticed, if you have a big enough play space, you can walk through the elevator walls in the second mission and essentially become invincible. It was also very unclear to me when I was fighting the person you were looking for. The game felt like it just ended with much conflict. Maybe if that person was a "final boss" of some sort, that could fix that. Maybe the boss would have a lot of heath or be incredibly fast or something, with very few other enemy's on screen. That way you would actually be fighting the boss instead of the game just ending. Also, I feel like the game lasted a bit too long. In the second mission, the first floor lasted far too long without much change. I got bored half way through. You could improve this element by shortening the amount of enemy's you need to kill in order to progress. On a different note, the weapons didn't feel great, if you look at a game like Pavlov, if you pull the trigger, you get recoil. In this game, you pull the trigger and nothing happens, I like the quick reloads but the lack of recoil makes 2 handed weapons pointless, because you can just one hand them with no punishment. One final issue, the combat didn't seem to take advantage of the quests wireless freedom, I would love if enemy's would attack from all sides to keep the player on their toes. On a final note. This game is really fun, I like the story but some of the game play could be improved. Let me know if I can help with anything else
Yeah it’s good. I do like reloading manually though but it’s a good concept man
Maybe download contractors on sidequest and take some notes from that game regarding gun mechanics
I love games like this where you need to duck and hide. Can't wait to see the full version.
Amazing game! really well made. fun to play and makes you want more. I cannot wait to see what it will become.
Apologies for the late feedback but I tried the game and it’s great. The concept is good and the levels are challenging. Very few bugs
One bug I noticed is you take damage even while ducked under cover
Also you’re not able to rotate the sniper rifle in your hands by twisting your hands I don’t know if that makes much sense
But overall amazing work and great game
i think that’s it’s really good. but there’s only 2 things i would change
first is telling the player about the ability to crouch in the intro because i really didn’t find out about that feature until after when i was in the range
and second is the speed of the ak. i think that it’s a little too fast for the game play but if you want to you can just keep it at the speed it’s at right now. i would recommend that it slows down a little bit
i cant wait for this to be finished
this is increidbly fun
Ok so i played both levels that are available. A lot of fun. Both levels i couldnt finish on the first try
First level took 4-5 tries. 2nd level took 2 tries
I didnt notice the 2nd assault rifle the first time playing the 2nd level.
It was hidden behind the box
First level i had a harder time with the dual pistols. Which is weird because i play pistol whip everyday dual wheeled and im spot on
I kept shooting the power line wires lol
What do u mean. On the second level when the gun breaks after the elevator moves up?
I actually liked that. I used 2 assault rifles on the first level. Second i used the shotgun and assault rifle
3rd level i used the handgun and shotgun.
This was on my second run and i completed it
I think if u move the assault rifle from behind the box. It would make it easier
I think its balanced. U dont want it too hard that people dont want to play
I do like that u have a boss at the end of the second level
I’ll have to play it more.... but i didnt notice if i have a health meter
Ok i just missed it. There is a lot going on when the action starts that u dont even look at it
I gotta say. It is a lot of fun to play
I would have liked a boss at the end of the first level. I really enjoyed that on the second level. Reminded me of old school games
Was there a health meter for the boss? I didnt notice
It is a lot of fun. Something i would def pick up
Thank u for putting it out there to be tested
Me and my 9yr old daughter tried the first level yesterday. I liked it, really well done. She had a lot of trouble with the single shot sniper rifle being the first weapon. I missed not having a scope and wouldn't make it the first weapon. Missed not being able to grip the guns with the second hand too. But the game is fun and nice visuals.
Hi, I just finished 15 min session: congrats! great idea, excellent game play, love the idea to do a shotgame avoiding the motion sickness. UI is nice, UX also. Graphic is good, indie games styles.
For now I didn't find any negative aspect. probably could be nice have an indicator about healt, and some visual effect when people shot me.
well done!
Ok I freaking love it can't wait to play more. With the other levels is it going to be same environment? Also the one thing I would do is make it so you can hold the weapons with both hands to make it more realistic. Dude other then that I love!!
Keep me updated with any updates or changes.
Thanks so much for this awesome game.
Hi, Ok so I had a quick play through last night and I have to say I really enjoyed it I will play some more over the weekend.
Obviously you are still working on it and things like life bars and taking hits I assume are to come but I love the graphics it's nice to have a shooter that isn't so graphic that my 9 year old couldn't play it.
I like the shooting range and the fact there are plenty of levels to come. Will the future levels be set in different locations ? Also I would add the level baddie as an end of level boss with some sort of special weapon, think Army of Two and that's the sort of thing i'm talking about.
Would I buy this game with those additions ? Yes I would
Thank you for letting me have access and being able to give you some feedback I hope it's helpful. If you would like me to continue testing please let me know.
Oh and keep up the great work, we need more games for the quest !!
i think that’s it’s really good. but there’s only 2 things i would change
first is telling the player about the ability to crouch in the intro because i really didn’t find out about that feature until after when i was in the range
and second is the speed of the ak. i think that it’s a little too fast for the game play but if you want to you can just keep it at the speed it’s at right now. i would recommend that it slows down a little bit
What I like :
- The room with military people, feel nice
- Style
- Tutorial
- Ennemies coming to our window, what a surprise! fun
- The mission (Kill a target )
What I dislike:
- Too much ennemies and life, level design and balance need to be improve. We fire all the time, we don't care.
- We can't really hide (look at what Crisis Brigad doing)
- our target should be the boss, the last one we kill. I don't understand, he was on our building?
- Ennemies and friends looks bigger than the player. (but it's ok)
Keep going, it's a really good start. I like what your are doing. I will look at next updates
I forgot to tell you, I had a bug when y try to see beyond the window. Hard to describe, the image was really buggy, a lot of squares. I quit the game and restart but the bug was still there. I tried to record video it for you, but this action fix the bug for some reason.
Haha you’re good, I actually played it last night. First level was pretty good, I liked the:
- enemy deployment patterns
- duel guns
- the different guns
- length of the level
It sounds like you’re already working on the next main things to make it better, like two-hand holding on the rifles, scope on the sniper, I think those two things would really make it great. Only other things I would consider:
- different weapons on certain enemies (automatic rifles, RPG‘s, etc.)
- May be a difficult enemy or scenario for the end of the level (boss battle, hostage situation, etc.)
- grenades (or something that explodes?)
The level was fun, let me know when you get the next level!
Also will the next level be at a different location? It would be cool if you had levels in famous world locations, lake France, or Hong Kong.
Thanks for letting me test it👍 -Chris
Hello and good day Itzik! Just finished testing out your game. LOVED IT! How many levels and scenes have you created? Its a very simple game so everyone should enjoy this.
ok ive played your game it was really great but i have some things
manual loading should be an option too choose
the ar really fun
but way too easy
the soldiers when they come from the bottom you cant see them and your other soldier is shouting and you dont know why(edited)
the graphic design on the characters inside could be better
and there should be a hard mode
i maybe have a ton of complaints but i really liked the game
maybe a idea
i would really like too see a mall level
also the serpent at the beginning looked really good
if you have any thought about this please say it
and def ask me again if new levels come out!
thats it for now
yes i think the game is pretty fun for it being only one level but one thing i wish was being able to grab the weapon with two hands
I really liked it, felt like a modern take on a shooting gallery, or a “stay in place” time crisis, though I do have a few suggestions:
A wave progress bar would be nice, the third wave was pretty long, and I didn’t see a few guys at first who had spawned on the right hand side of the street until actually sticking my head out the window. If not that, maybe highlight them after a few moments?
I dropped the sniper rifle through the window sill - I tried to set it on it, and it fell to the void below.
I expected a forward grip with the sniper rifle, my left hand was just kinda useless. It makes sense to not have dual grip with the dual pistols, but not with the rifles - though dual wielding the pistol and the assault rifle was a blast (though it could be achieved even if the rifle had an optional forward grip).
I feel like the guns should have “some” recoil. The sniper rifle needs reloaded frequently so I think it’s ok, but it’s needed for the pistols and the assault rifle. The pistols felt like laser guns, where I could just keep putting bullets through the same spot repeatedly. It seems like the AR just fires in a small cone with some random variance, but still fairly tightly packed right now.
My only other criticism is the sound effects, especially the assault rifle. Currently it just sounds like a mixture of firecrackers and a (GAU-8 Avenger) - the report is wrong for a small caliber firearm, and the pitch is off for a rifle of that caliber.
Overall, though, I’m excited to come back to it when more stages drop! I really enjoyed it, despite being a bit nit-picky, and feel like this has some pretty great potential!
Hi, first impressions are great! I like shooting gallery type games. Here's some feedback from me:
Visuals: - Really like the style, I think it works well on the Quest! - Sometimes the dead enemies didn't fall down completely, so it looked like they were still alive.
Dialog/Text: - I had some issues with the depth of the text, it was as if the text was further away than the wall, but at the same time it was showing up on top of the wall. - It says "Crouth" instead of "Crouch" in the instruction poster.
Life/Health: - Did not notice that there was a life % in the beginning, so thought I was "invincible" in this demo. Then I saw there was a health percentage in the corner. I think this could maybe be a little bit more visible. - I think it could be more visible when the player receives damage.
Shooting: - Works ok, but I think it would better with some more feedback when shooting and when you're empty.
Gameplay: - Not sure what happened at the end, when the "Boss" came out? It felt a bit anticlimatic. Perhaps would be better with some sort of more victory animation or sound that indicates that the game was won.
Wow!! Awesome game. Those soldiers jumping into your window do give you a scare.
Awesome game. The reloading took a bit to get use to it. So far, I think your game has been the only I have tested to use X/A as reloading.
Maybe use a movement action to reload it, similar to what “Robo Recall” does.
In the game, if you bring the gun close to your legs, it gets reloaded.
Hello, the game was a blast. But there is one thing that i feel might make it better. First limited ammo on the ak. It just was way to powerful i feel. Other then that there were some super small details but its a great game
hey! just got one playing the mission. super fun. i can see this being a must have shooter. the “jump scare” when the guy pops in front of the window really got me but i loved it.
my only critique is the placement of the hand is a little off. not too bad but i could tell when i rotated my wrist. quickly got used to it tho.
Operation Serpens the shooter on SideQuest (beta 1st level)
History and Gameplay Operation Serpens
The game offers you to join a team of snipers to put an end to the different groups of criminals that plague your city. However, this is a solo FPS, even if your teammates seem to be participating, they don't kill anyone.
You start the game in the room of a building with an intervention team. The team captain explains your first mission to you: massacre all the villains of the first gang. From your position, you can see the street and the building opposite with its many windows (and its roof).
In this first level of the beta version launched for free on SideQuest, you will learn how to use different weapons:
sniper rifle (1 shot)
pistol (12 shots)
Machine gun (30 rounds)
pistol with silencer (6 shots)
The game clearly emphasizes simplicity and fun , it is about shooting everything that moves (and especially everything that shoots you). The handling of weapons and ultra simple:
major to grab the weapon
trigger to fire
“A” button to reload
Here, no ammunition to take at the belt, charger to empty or dog to arm, one click and your charger is refilled. The shots are very intuitive and very fast. We have fun without thinking or putting a strategy in place. You can of course use two weapons at the same time , even a sniper rifle with a revolver.
Quality of graphics and audio
A good surprise, the characters on your team are rather funny and your captain, even if he speaks to you in English and perfectly clear in his words. Textures management is well taken into account. Thus, if you shoot an opponent behind an element of the scenery, you make an impact on it and do not hit your target. We are in a comic book style which adds a simple, colorful and pleasant aspect.
The shooting range is pretty well done and really allows you to practice aiming. I liked the principle of rolling back the target when we aim in the middle. And conversely that it advances if we miss the center. Quite addictive, we want to put the target at the end of the corridor. Here an efficiency score is displayed as a percentage on the right in the stand.
In terms of music and soundtrack, we pay little attention to it since you spend your time shooting and being shot. So the sound is a series of bullet noises.
Studio Itzik Goldman
In fact, this is an independent developer who made his own quiet game on his own. Very encouraging result for this launch which lasts about twenty minutes (several sequences in the street, then access to your HQ and to the training stand). Itzik plans to add a new level every 15 days.
The ideas of evolution
For my part, I will add in priority the fact of being able to use the second hand to hold the barrel of the rifles and gain in accuracy of shooting.
There is a marking in the left frame of the window which indicates your standard of living and your percentage of targets hit by your shots. In addition, to display it in the field of vision, I would put a point system for each opponent shot with an algorithm like 1 point in the body, 2 points in the head and x2 if killed on the first shot. Thus, we would get a score in each game to try to improve the next one (or compare to other players).
Obviously, a multiplayer mode (even limited to two) would be a real plus. Everyone posted at a window and be able to talk to each other to distribute the targets or the area to be monitored.

Operation Serpens
I had a lot of fun doing this first level three times, clearly we have fun, we let off steam. The graphics are well done and the actions are very simple. No harm in VR since we remain in a static position, the enemies arriving from the front (but from all sides).
A perfect game to learn solo FPS without taking the head. So yes, the game could gain realistic gameplay by adding more complex handling of weapons as well as ballistics, but the only thing I really missed is to be able to hold rifles or machine guns in both hands. Good news, this is already under development and will be added with the release of level 2.

So just played the first level, the graphics are nice and smooth, kind of reminds me of sniper vr that I played on the psvr only the characters on your game are a lot more better looking and not looking like something out of minecraft all blocky like in sniper vr, love the fact you can learn right out the window ( that's when I noticed the hot chick in white shorts shaking her rear) as she walked down the street lol, the sounds were good as was the look of the weapons, my only draw back with the guns is that you cant hold the rifles with two hands, besides that though I thought it was great and left me wanting to play the next levels. Well done mate, your definitely onto something here 👍👍👍
Hey so my son and I got around to playing your game. Over all it was a fun game. The aiming is spot on and controlled very well. Somethings we found off was not being able to use two hands on the two handed weapons. Also the machine gun in the first level seemed a little to powerfull. Another thing is the characters are very large and make you feel very small. Other then that it was an easy to control and learn game that was fun to play.
1. The designs of characters and elements look solid. The dancing guy at the was hilarious. Keep the comedy!
2. Add another anchor point for two handed weapons.
3. Add a damage effect on the player's H.U.D. to indicate the player has been hit.
4. Add moving non-human elements to levels to give the level a bit more "life." I.E. birds, squirrels, moving vehicles. Also consider leaves, wind particles, plastic bags ect.
5. Add a magnetic effect on the weapons the player uses that allows the weapons to "spring" to the players hand if they are within a certain distance. This prevents players from trying to pick up a weapon off the floor too fast and damaging their controllers. on the floor.
6. Though the reload button is convenient, active reload grants more immersion for the player.
Last one: 7. Find a way to encourage the player to mix up the weapons given. Once I got the AK, that's all I used. If the weapons had a re-spawning ammo capacity over time, the player would be mix it up. That in of itself is a fun mini-game.
Cheers Mate! Green job, keep going, you got my support.
Good -
- Love the low poly graphic I think it makes things much more comfortable to consume
- Love the user interface where you merge level 1 and gaming mechanics into one, so I will not feel that I wasted my time.
- The reloading is special to me, as I played contractor I need to draw my mag and reload. For yours, it's simple and easy for first-timer VR user as it is only a button away.
- The whole experience felt like an arcade game, fast and manageable.
Weapon selection is only three now, which I think you'll have more in the future.
-Currently, the handling felt great. Easy to aim too.
- Love the element where you add in bot teammates beside, so you'll not feel alone.
Bad -
- Might want to change opening screen logo, as it has nothing to do with the game and doesn't excite users to look out for what's coming. Maybe a masthead of the main character holding the weapon with building behind and low poly explosion? (Building up excitement is the key)
- I crouch using the button, and it sends me to the floor level, which is not realistic, so I prefer to couch on my own. Might want to set height calibration for users before they start the game so screen height will be balanced out.
- I tried standing and taking all the bullets throughout one game, and I'm alive after completing level 1.
- I was hoping to see some blood splatter, that might just be me. Even low poly blood works for me.
Overall good job I must say, looking forward to level 2 and more.
its great
a solid shooter
if the commander didnt talk so often it would be a tad less annoying but other than that its pretty good
also on the controls board it says crouth and not crouch
it would be cool if you could hold guns with both hands if that wasnt already added
Hi Itzik just tried it and really like it.
My points I like are:
Easy to get into so a good quick get in and play feel to it which to me with VR is important if you want a quick game it would be one of the top in my list to pick up and quickly play.
Good graphics although characters maybe need slightly better physics and voice acting?
The pistols aiming mechanics are really good and feel you need to train to perfect it so replayability for that is good.
The shock of a guy appearing at the window was great, was just reloading at that point! Be good to have a few more like that.
The bugs I found or at least observations I made are:
Be good to hold guns with both hands
AK47 fires like a minigun, be good to have it fire more realistically and have sights you can aim down.
Sniper rifle would be goot have a scope or iron sights to aim down.
Enemies AI they move and hide and duck would be good, maybe put burnt out cars or even ones you can explode and take enemies out with.
Grenades or flashbacks would be fun too!
There is a spell typo on the diagram showing your controls, should say crouch on it, it says something else.
Some sort of score board or kill count would be good.
All round solid game and look forward to seeing other levels.
Hi Itzik, just played Operation Serpens. I've got to say I'm really impressed with what you've made so far. Honestly I didn't expect it to be this good! (Based on nothing really). It was a pleasant suprise to find this level of completeness, although it is 'just' one level. I had really fun to shoot em up, just like a shooting gallery.
The guy that climbed up the balcony and appeared right in front of my face really freaked me out, really added some fun. Loved the aquarium and other gimmicks in the scenery, like the girls walking around. I laughed my a$$ of when the game was over and the enemies were dancing!!
Just keep up the good work. Not really critics from my side, since I'm no developer. I had just really good fun playing your game (and will continue to do so)
my final view: I had a lot of fun repeating this first level three times, clearly we're having fun, we're letting off steam. The graphics are well done and the actions are very simple. No harm of RV since we stay on a static position, the enemies arriving from the front (but from all sides).
A perfect game to learn solo FPS without headache. So yes, the game could gain realistic gameplay by adding more complex weapon handling and ballistics, but the only thing I really missed was being able to hold rifles or machine guns with both hands.

Hi Itzak, just tried it.
Conguratulations on a good start. Here are my goods and not so goods:
+ Very comfortable overall experience.
+ Scale and distance works really well, especially for the building accross the street.
+ Performance is great, there was no lags or glitches
+ The graphics and animations look stylized and smooth
- The depth of the info text is behind the hands but they appear in front. This confuses the eyes and puts a strain on focusing
- I guess this probably is a one man attempt but the voice-over becomes repetitive quickly. It would be better if he actually spoke out when a hostile was about to climb over and take you down. Otherwise it's a bit distracting.
- I don't know if it is because of my height (I'm 1.92) but the aim of the pistol is off, and it's actually shooting about half a meter above where I'm aiming. Maybe you can add an adjustment level where the user can make test shots and adjusts the aim of the guns. This might be like a mini game?
Thanks for taking the time and sharing this with the community. Looking forward to new levels and revisions to the game.
Cheers...
Hello, yes we played it this morning. Not bad. Here are my "issues".
1.On the main menu crouch is spelled crouth
2.I think that the enemy bullets need to be slowed down so that dodging is possible. And when this is implimented, the amount of shots needed to kill the player needs to be much less than it is.
3. The A.I is a little too basic. Maybe ducking down behind/from the side of the window ledges..whilst the enemies on the ground could hide behind crates etc. At the moment it is a bit dull. There are 3 age ranges i tested it on. My 5 year old, my 10 year old and me...Old enough to know better
Yes, but not much. I plan on getting some more time in today. It's pretty good from what I've seen so far, the only change I would to see is being able to hold rifles with both hands. Apart from that, I love the concept of it.
Hi - Sarah’s husband here - we’ve both tried it and found it good and also got some comments for you ! I’m a tester on other games so don’t take these to heart - they’re to help you get it better 😉
You need to add recoil to the weapons
Reloading should take more than a button press - need to get a mag and insert it after ejecting the spent one
The rate of fire on the ak is mental- needs to be slowed
The amount of rounds in the ak is unrealistic
You need to be able to grip rifles with 2 hands - reducing the recoil when you do .... same with pistols
Graphics on soldiers is sketchy - especially the hands
Commanders lips should move
Amount of enemies in round 1 is too many but not enough variation in their attack
No locomotion- Should be able to move about the room ..... maybe to another window
Should be able to holster sidearms on hips and rifle on back
Would enjoy more weapons and free choice as to which one to use - it’s a bit guided at the most
No grenades ! Why ?
Enemies could have smoke grenades
No damage in the room as enemies shoot in
Just a few comments to get you started !!!
Hope this helps
Yes I have sorry for late response. I love it, could have believed it was a arcade game fro. The legit store. Only notes for criticism is the minor audio glitches. But besides that it played smoothly, the bullets went where I wanted them too
Super pumped for more levels to be released
first of all, graphics are very well done. like the light effects of the guns too. love the big boobed girls on the street in the beginning and would rather like to watch and "comunicate" with them than with the army guys ;D
gameplay feels pretty good so far, means, aming works great
what i dont like is the "randomness" you get hit by the enemies. i totally would prefer if:
i would have less energy... maybe even one shot kill. but if their bullets would be slower like i could dodge them more or less easily
i mean immo its rather an arcade game than something super seriouse and super real so that would be fine and would just add a lot more challange to it
also i do like games which are getting me moveing like pistol whip and space pirate trainer
multiplayer would be super cool too. would love to play it side by side with my GF
so summry- i think it has a lot of potential, just the gameplay mechanics need to get twaked in my opinnion. a bit of dodging and less health would enheance the challange a lot!
...and i am kinda jelly. would love being able to programm games like this
as i said....i think the base is already there and there IS potential for it to become really great
...bossfights would be cool too
big guys or panzers or robots, where you have to shoot certain areas (parts) of it to get it finally down
...and let it be a big boobed girly millitary operation instead of boring guys xD
if you need arcady styled music hit me up, i am music producer and VR intusiast so maybe i could help you regarding that
bro, so far, congrats dude. it was a really enjoyable experience. it made me want to keep playing it. i would say you should add being able to hold a gun with both hands, if yk what i mean. all in all a really great wave shooter and i cannot wait to see where it goes.
Character animations like enemies falling, or them moving in the base is great, bullet impact on the floor is great too.
Weapon sounds could be a little more agressive
the ak sounds a bit like fireworks
is there a way to reload the sniper by pulling the bolt or is it reloading the mag after every shot
are you adding gripping the weapons with 2 hands?
This really has potential and gives lightgun vibes
Thank you and your team for the efforts, i enjoyed game, a few personel observations:
Found the rifles a little bit awkward not being able to hold / steady the rifle with the other hand. The aiming of the sight to round landing was quite accurate.
The game has an arcade feel which is quite appealing however I'm unsure if it would become boring as the game progressed. Think the sub titles aren't needed but if they were kept, positioned at the bottom of the view. Minor point sniper rifle with a mag but only 1 round. I found the effect of in coming of bullets, making me crouch lasted for a few minutes then i mostly remained standing up as I was not bothered by incoming. Maybe a more visual effect blood splatter in view losing visibility for a second, vibration in handsets or both. Hope this helps. Think the game has potential to be a fun arcade style shooter. Will have another go tomorrow evening and give more feedback if applicable. Thank you
Hi, I played the demo level and reallly enyoyed it. I absolutely love the artstyle. Now some tips to improve it:
1: Reloading your weapons in a realistic way (taking a mag from e.g your chest and putting it in the gun)
2: For future levels i would love to see movement even if it is just between fixed points (like in the Bullet Train Demo on Oculus store)
3: Sometimes the hitbox of the electric wires blocked my bullets, its not a big deal but with the sniper it was somewhat annoying.
4: Some kind of weapon upgrade system to improve the guns for later levels with harder enemys.
That was it from my side. If you have any newer demos you would like to get tested I´m here for you. And keep up the great work.
OPERATION SERPENS Oculus quest: Be part of an elite team!
Today, I'm going to present a new shooter, it's called OPERATION SERPENS on Oculus quest.
In this game, you are part of an elite team, it all starts with your leader who gives you a mission. You will have to rid the streets of dangerous gangsters by any means, even the most expeditious.
All this will be the pretext for a huge firing range where many enemies will attack you in turn.
Fortunately, you will have many weapons at your disposal. This will go from the sniper rifle, through pistols or even a machine gun.
Armed with this real arsenal, you will have to kill all the enemies as quickly as possible, to move on to the next mission.
However, for the moment, the game only offers one but fortunately, the developer indicates that he will add a new one every two weeks.
It will therefore be necessary to see if these promises will be followed up, I will not fail to inform you.
In the meantime, I made a short video so you can see what this title has to offer.
If you are interested, you can download this application on Sidequest by clicking
https://www.vr-gamerz.fr/2020/06/17/operation-serpens-oculus-quest/
I must say, so far it is a great game, I love the graphics and movement and the office scene with the characters is great. The ease of reloading makes it slick and improves the gameplay. With the sniper rifles and machine guns it would have been nice to hold the gun with both hands to steady the aim. Apart from the sniper I also think the aim may be slightly out and it would benefit in having a target/dot or crosshair.
The game play is fantastic and I liked the effect of the guards climbing to the window. Maybe don’t have all the enemy’s coming to the windows at the same time.
I hope this helps and happy to continue playing.
Looks super cool! Please include a lot of enviroment chances and (same account-) multiplayer for oculus quest, maybe even shared space.
Quest here (with link)
Cheers
Liked the game. I like the G.I. Joe references without actually having to use the Licensing. Great Arcade feel. I almost jumped when the guy tried to come through the window at me. One thing that would be great is if the sniper gun had a scope. The machine gun was great and love the easy reload. Hope to see more levels and a boss at end would be great. Keep up the awesome work.
Yes and I am very impressed I think that it's already as good as alot of go games as it stands and could be on the go store or sidequest as is....I keep dying at the same time however no matter what there is no way to not get shot also a turn view option and walking with joystick would be great (I'm sure you've planned to implement that) and some hands and face of the main soldier tweaking.......it was very addictive and fun!
the opening snake logo is DOPE!!! It was eye catchy and because it was done very well graphically it kept me on my toes waiting to see what the game was going to look like
IMPRESSED!!!!
ok so I love the characters and the animation.
it took me forever to figure out how to load and shoot the sniper rifle....being an idiot. Sooo once I figured that out it wsa great. I had trouble aiming but I alwasy do when I start playing. Shooting the little guys was fun because they look hilarious...remeind me of old school games. I was totally shocked when I died and they started dancing.
Its definitely a game I woudl play over and over for shitsngiggles even with one level. I havent gotten very far..gotta learn to duck LOL
I tried the game, it’s really nice but I think if polish it and better handle for the guns it will be very good... good job and keep up the good work
Well, we tried your game.
First I have to say.. sorry for my English, I’m from the Netherlands, I understand English but writing is a bit difficult for me.
I tried it first. I don’t play a lot of shooting games, but my first impression was good! I like the graphics, it looks very nice. I didn’t make it past the double pistol part but that’s because I’m a bad shooter I think...
then my 15y old son tried it. He liked it a lot. He also liked the graphics and the gameplay, especially when the enemies came through the window 🤣. He hasn’t come further yet, but he wants to trie it again.
He was very positive, the only thing he missed was how he could heal himself. Is dat even possible? Or is the goal to make it trough the level without dying?
He only played it once, I guess when he’ll play it another time he will come further.
We are definitely positive about this game!
We made it through the first level. Even me The man coming through the window are quite scaring .
What I also want to say, It’s pretty comfortable, some other games makes me dizzy, or I’ll get motion sickness, this game doesn’t.
We are looking foreword tombe the next level. Good luck making it! Thanks for letting us play is!
Two testers:
ran it 6 times, one crash on boot it could be due to OS17 bugs.
It needs player height adjustment to the in game floor.
The position of the A button at the end of the test needs to be moved as it can be hardly seen.
Sniper needs a scope rather then a red/green laser, as you wouldn’t see it in bright daylight.
Two hand holding on it is a must. It will be better with a manual reload system.
Pistol targeting is slightly off.
Machine gun: need to change the audio file, two hand mode for holding and a manual reload.
Receiving enemy hits needs a more visual indicator.
points system for your hits would be good (head 10, torso 2, limbs 1)
body count tally.
Enemies who fall on the wires should have electric shock animation.

I don’t know if you have polished the game yet I will point out some points.
1) Texture the buildings in the background
2) The animations of the general are far too many I was waiting to say something more because he was moving all the time and the animations were not synced with the story the first tow you had that came and show the picture were enough.
3) I don’t think you need subtitles for the speak of the general but if you put it in you must raised a bit more in the field of view of the player it was far two down I could not read them
4) Put the instructions on the first wall when the player is spawned, I click the B button and I thought that the game was broken because I could not see the instructions straight away, I restarted the game because of that.
5) Make the dug the B button a bit slower in the movement because it feels like a drop from somewhere like you jump from a window
6) The sound of the Ak 47 is way too of the sound keep replaying all the time and it does not sound like an AK 47.
7) The biggest drawback was the angle of the pistols you must set the pistol at 90 degrees along with the controller also at 90 degrees I was stretching my wrists all the way in the front to make the guns align with a 90 degrees angle Infront of me so I can make the aiming works, also I think the aiming is not working correctly because of that after a while my wrists were hurting and it was really uncomfortable.
8) In general, I liked the game and the looks of it remind me old games which brings good memories, I would like some form of points for the kills so I can keep a score or something based on time so it’s more competitive.
Nice job man keep it up.
Love the overall concept of the game. Took us all a while to pickup and fire the first gun. Would help to have floating instructions on the gun itself
The reloading was a bit cumbersome we all wanted it to be fast
The matrix bullet effect would be great on the bullets coming toward us
And a red flash to know you are hit
Great work. Looking forward to assisting
Love the shooting and the mix of the Enemies
The beginning with the wanted poster was nice
Would be cool to have a couple of smaller windows to move left and right with
To offer cover
We will all play more later and add to the feedback
Yes, played some. I liked the "pop in pop out mecanic" or simply the crouch button lol. I did not like how big guns where still operated with only one hand. As mush as I like shooting games, stationary shooting galleries are less entertaining to me than more active scenarios even on rail like time crisis or crisis vrigade where the scene evolves or changes more often. With it's current style, a dynamic indicator on enemies that are about to shoot could be fun like there was in virtual cop 2 (the old game by sega). The way the enemy spawns and interact feels a bit too simplistic, I feel I'm playing a mobile game click-shooter as it is. A pursuit map, sniper map, where your shooting condition changes and enemies feel more present in the decor would really enhance the whole vibe (now they just arrive and shoot, no real interaction with the cover around).
Played your game, dude.. awesome idea so far! I liked the angle and the wave structure. Guns are easily accessible and the aiming is good. Got right into it, the angle of the controller is just right when holding it. Did you use a graphics package or are these all yours?
